Publisher's summary

Dani "Mega" O’Malley plays by her own set of rules - and in a world overrun by Dark Fae, her biggest rule is: Do what it takes to survive. Possessing rare talents and the all-powerful Sword of Light, Dani is more than equipped for the task. In fact, she’s one of the few humans who can defend themselves against the Unseelie. But now, amid the pandemonium, her greatest gifts have turned into serious liabilities.

Dani’s ex–best friend, MacKayla Lane, wants her dead, the terrifying Unseelie princes have put a price on her head, and Inspector Jayne, the head of the police force, is after her sword and will stop at nothing to get it. What’s more, people are being mysteriously frozen to death all over the city, encased on the spot in sub-zero, icy tableaux.

When Dublin’s most seductive nightclub gets blanketed in hoarfrost, Dani finds herself at the mercy of Ryodan, the club’s ruthless, immortal owner. He needs her quick wit and exceptional skill to figure out what’s freezing Fae and humans dead in their tracks - and Ryodan will do anything to ensure her compliance.

Dodging bullets, fangs, and fists, Dani must strike treacherous bargains and make desperate alliances to save her beloved Dublin - before everything and everyone in it gets iced.

LOVE Karen Marie Moning

Loved, Loved, Loved! I missed the Fever Series so much - I was so happy to be back in that world. I was sad that Mac and Barrons weren't the focus of the story, but quickly came to love the banter between Dani and Ryodan, and Christian's weirdness. The story is a great mystery, but it's really the dynamic between the characters that makes it. In fact, the story was so good, it made me realize just how much I had been missing the Fever series and I started reading that all over again. Thanks, Karen!

P.S. - It would be AWESOME if you could get Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante to re-do the narration on the earlier Fever books.

Great listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is an example of great narration. I really liked the story and was sorry to see it end. I know many people have an issue with Dani's age and this book having relations to sexuality. I didn't find it wierd or perverted. If you take the story as is, and not try to over analyize things it's a great, entertaining story. I was sorry it ended.

What other book might you compare Iced to and why?

The Fever series.

Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

Riodin and Dani were my favorites, they both have so much spirit. I found myself laughing quite often.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes.

Any additional comments?

Not what I was looking for.

Would you listen to Iced again? Why?

No

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Faster pace, and older main character, she was a little too young for me to relate to, but a younger reader may really enjoy the book.

Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

They where both great I just did not care for the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

around middle

Any additional comments?

Natalie Ross is great. Just was not my style.

Readers Delite

The narrator was the best! Very good. I recommend the whole series. Start from the very first book in the series.

Not as good as the Mac books.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

yes, there is too much confusion between characters. They all sound the same. The accent is just too equal for all the female characters, and even the males.
There are many problems with the story line, I think. It is really boring the first half, then it picks up towards the middle. Danni's character is just annoying. I realize she is supposed to be young, but she is smart, cunning, astute about what is going on, but why must she sound like a over puffed puffin? She is always saying how wonderful she is, and it is ok for a few times, but it gets so repetitive. Also, how the characters move from Kat to Danni is really almost impossible to tell until you get past the first few minutes of the dialogue. The first time it happened was so confusing I didn't know for almost the whole time what was happening was not to Danni.
This is partly the fault of the narrator.

I have not finished the book yet, so I don't know what will be happening. It is finally coming together, at this point.

If you’ve listened to books by Karen Marie Moning before, how does this one compare?

not well. I have enjoy the other books, and enjoy the narration characterizations more. The were more distinct.

What didn’t you like about Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ’s performance?

It is all said above.

Could you see Iced being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, there is just not enough meat on Danni's character yet. She need much more depth.

too much redundancy in the descriptions!

i fell in love withe the first book and the story. but since shadow fever she uses every synonym she finds in the thesaurus to discribe each and every emotion anyone has. the story is great but she needs an editor.

Read this!!

It really annoys me when I read some of the reviews complaining about Danny being too young and blah-blah... I thought this was one of the best books in the series. I love Danny and if any one that hasn't grown up in privilege knows, age is really a small part of maturity and what your mind knows. I'm in my thirties and I have friends that still have minds of teenagers. I've met Teenagers with wisdom that surpassed ppl I know. The author didn't have her walking around having sex with people so get over it. It's really going to annoy me if this next book isn't from Danny's perspective because the author put those peoples thoughts into consideration and added more adults. it's time for Danny's story and I like it. I love Lore..he's growing on me. I do find myself fast forwarding through some of the Abbey talk . I guess it just doesn't pull me in or it's not really a storyline I care about as much. The women just aren't that captivating.
