Publisher's summary

He has stolen her past, but MacKayla will never allow her sister's murderer to take her future. Yet even the uniquely gifted sidhe-seer is no match for the Lord Master, who has unleashed an insatiable sexual craving that consumes Mac's every thought - and thrusts her into the seductive realm of two very dangerous men, both of whom she desires but dares not trust.

As the enigmatic Jericho Barrons and the sensual Fae prince V'lane vie for her body and soul, as cryptic entries from her sister's diary mysteriously appear and the power of the Dark Book weaves its annihilating path through the city, Mac's greatest enemy delivers a final challenge....
It's an invitation Mac cannot refuse, one that sends her racing home to Georgia, where an even darker threat awaits. With her parents missing and the lives of her loved ones under siege, Mac is about to come face-to-face with a soul-shattering truth - about herself and her sister, about Jericho Barrons...and about the world she thought she knew.

This was a fantastic book in the series!

Bought from Audible
Book Rating 4.5
Audio Review 5

What I Loved: This is going to be a hard review to write because I do not want to spoil the book for those who have not read it. It is my favorite book in the series so far. The pace was quick but not overwhelmingly so. The writing was well done and the audio was fantastic. It was almost like a giant chess game that you knew where it was going and then it would whip lash you the other way. Everything made sense and yet you still could be caught off guard. Mac, Barron, The LM, Vlaine, Danni, Rowena, Kat (who I think is the most level-headed of the bunch), and the rest of this delightful cast of characters each shown brightly whenever they were on the page. Really a great example of using all your characters to their maximum potential.

What I Liked: I really appreciated the fact that the rest of the world was affected by the opening up of the walls and that it was addressed. So often times, big bad world changing things tend to be relegated to one area (though you know they can't be) and the rest of the world is ignored. It really made the story more believable that she included all areas of the world.

Complaints: Again with the cliffhanger :) I am so glad I had Shadowfever on hand or I would have been stomping mad.

Audio Specific Review: The Dual Narrators: Natalie Ross, Phil Gigante did such a fantastic job that it is hard to put into words. I would listen to anything they narrated. Though this is the first book they both did in this series so it takes a few chapters to get used to Mac 4.0's voice.

Why I gave it a 4.5: This was a fantastic book in the series!

Who I would recommend this too: Urban Fantasy Fans --though you need to start at book 1.

Too Short....

I just finished reading Dreamfever and truly enjoyed it, except that it was far too short. The ending is so annoying!!! Yet again KMM leaves you the reader with a massive cliff-hanger for an finale. I can't wait for the release of Shadowfever so that I can get my next fix of this gripping story. Definitely think twice before walking away from the fever series.

Please just get started and read this series

If you could sum up Dreamfever in three words, what would they be?

You are going to cry. you are going to rage.... but you won't be able to stop. I have been late to work because I couldn't stop listening. you really just need to listen. These books have Heart. You fall in love with the characters and feel like you know them. You find yourself doing research about Dublin and the fae. I planned my entire Scotland trip around the "Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon"... I will now plan my entire trip to Ireland by this series. AMAZING the writer and the readers.... you just can't stop listening.

Audio Transition

I have been indulging in this series and noticed that the reader of the book has changed; I don't think this is a bad thing, however, it does distract from the book because you're adjusting to the new character voices.

Aside from that, if you're wary about this series, fear not because the descriptions don't do the books justice and that is a blessing in disguise. This series keeps you on your toes with the plot twists and the ever frustrating relationship between Jericho and Mac. It doesn't hurt that the author graciously throws in a few more steamy male characters either. A word of caution about the smuttiness in this particular book. Overall, it's a fantastical tale with magic, love, adventure, heartache, and mystery.

Currently on book 5 of the series, and the ending in book 4 will definitely have you running to buy book 5.

Loved the change in narrators!!

I have listened to this 4 book series one book after another and I for one love the change in narrators. Nobody can beat Phil Gigante doing KMM's leading men! He makes this book the best listen in the series. I am also enjoying Natalie Ross very much. With Joyce Bean I kept hearing Blair Mallory from Linda Howard's To Die For getting mixed up with MacKayla, it was disconcerting. Natalie Ross is much more to my liking, she may pronounce Rowena's name wrong but finally V'lane's name is being said correctly in this book!

Great Book!

Great book, I love that a male voice was added to the series. The switch to Natalie Ross took a bit to get used to, but overall the narration was very good.

KMM does not disappoint

Another great installment in the Fever series. I truly enjoyed the pairing of these 2 narrators. Mr. Gigante - you have Jericho making us ALL purr like kittens. I can't wait for the next (and, sadly, final) book in this series
