Well, dang! I enjoyed this

Author is new, but still it was solid writing and just plain fun. If you're looking for something easy and light, this is it. Yep, I laughed throughout ... but shoot ... shoot ... I was begging for a different ending. Keep em coming DL!

Entertaining story

I enjoyed the story and the side stories. The side plots did not take away from the overall story, but added complexity to the relationships and character development as well as an understanding of the environment and society.

Although it is along book, much happened to fill the pages and, of course, is quite ridiculous.

Surprising And Enjoyable Regency

I very much enjoyed this Regency romance. Quite unexpected story and characters. This was most unusual Regency I have listened to in a long while. I like seeing a different view of the Regency world and having an unusual heroine showing it. I enjoyed the reader’s performance and I wish Audible would move that negative review of this book downwards so as not to put off potential readers.

Love the book!

This book is among my favorites and I really recommend it to anyone who is looking for a book that makes you laugh and enjoy a good romance.

The other reviews about the narrator left me unsure about getting this audiobook but in the end I am happy that I did. She had a fun way of drawing me into the story. Give her a chance and enjoy the story!

THIS BOOK HAS EVERYTHING -- I LOVED IT!

This is a 2 book series with everything you could ask for in a period romance -- but so much more! Starting with "Ridiculous", there are several page-turning mysteries running concurrently, humor and witty dialogue, drama, great visuals that make you feel you're right there, a unique story peopled with a great cast, a satisfying finish, and a great set-up for book #2 (Obstreperous).

The audio version has a really talented narrater with a huge vocal range who commands many dialects, so you always know who's speaking and exactly what's going on. She makes it so exciting that you'll want to stay up way too late listening.

I highly recommend you get both books at once because even though the first book has a very satisfying finish, it sets the scene so well for book #2 that I had to jump right into it.
I hope there will be a #3!

Entertaining

For once a truly brilliant and sensible female protagonist. The book is well written and funny. There are some less convincing parts, but overall it's very nice. Also I don't know why so many negative comments about the reader, the voice was fine.

Hilarious

Well written funny reparte. Love this narrator. Starts slow to build up back story, but the silly soliloquies to follow are worth it.
