Unusual magic and fun

Midieval times with some modern sensibilities. Fun characters. Practical jokes and more. A fun read

A lot of fun!

This was a good cozy fantasy. The "romance" part of it is not a big part of the story, but this is the first book in a series so it's the set-up book. It sets up a lot of things, but doesn't deliver a big ending yet. That's ok, though. I'm happy to continue reading to get more.

This was described to me as the main character being a grumpy person. I don't know if I felt like he came across as grumpy so much as set in his ways and not liking his authority challenged. It's not exactly the same. Especially because early on he develops a cute relationship with the young prince in the castle and that totally destroys any chance of seeing him as grumpy to me.

It was good fun!

Wonderful book just my sense of humor I love the bonds the main character forms and I love the little community that the characters make up good story good laughs good book!

Great story

What a great story!!! I loved every minute of it. The reader made me feel like I was there! I can’t wait to listen to the next one.

Adorable, Witty and Hilarious

I quite enjoyed listening to this book, it was perfectly cozy and the characters are well crafted. All of their decisions made sense and I just loved the magic and storytelling. Also the politics and romance and magic were well balanced, I was never bored. I did find the kraken and other cat voices a little strange but they were still funny.

Good book

A lot of fun, doesn’t take itself too seriously. I’d recommend reading or listening to it.

Love it-Adore the Characters

I loved it but it’s definitely a story where you’ll be needing to read the sequels. It’s a cute story so far. The characters are lovely. The kitchen staff ended up being some of the best characters.
