Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Christina Dodd spins the captivating tale of a nobleman whose path crosses again with the one woman he absolutely cannot resist....

A Disastrous Season

A simple statue began the scandal.

A Lady Concealed

An innocent English miss conceived of it, her hands gliding across the clay, delineating each smoothly defined muscle and sinew, creating a sculpture of the man she worshipped. When the likeness was exposed, along with Miss Jane Higgenbothem's secret tendre for Lord Blackburn, the ton's gleeful contempt sent the lady back to the country in disgrace.

A Gentleman Revealed

Now, a decade later, she's back in London, as a chaperone to her beautiful niece. But to Blackburn, Jane's unwitting model, the cool, reticent spinster is still a challenge. She once made the arrogant rake a laughingstock; so why is he tempted to revive an affair that almost began so long ago, on that scandalous evening...?

Perfectly executed bodice ripper

I really enjoyed the romance plot and overall plot. I still want to kick Ransom's butt for being too pushy and not marrying her the first time, but the way things worked out it's that much sweeter for her. Also I am still not clear if he meant to ruin her honor by having people walk in or if it was happenstance. The statue misunderstanding was excellent and I am very happy that was a part of this whole story lol.

It is a rare book that has it all, this one🥳

Everything from the story to the narrator was perfection. I liked the main characters and all the minor ones. On top of this you get comedy, romance and intrigue. The narrator was unbelievable giving each character a unique voice that fit them perfectly
Each good character got a happy ending with some nice surprises and the bad guys their comeuppance!

So very bland

IMHO the narrator sets the pace, presents the bones of the story and portrays the characters as interesting and relatable. That did not happen in this book. The story was pretty good, but there was no umph and no feelings...not my feelings anyway...were invoked. Christina is an experienced writer....I expected more from her than this.

Heroine's a pathetic doormat

This is my first book by this author. I read the reviews and thought it would be a good book. What is wrong with reviewers?!? The heroine is pathetic.
Her life was ruined and for 11 years she has been nothing but a glorified governess/poor relative because of the hero. She meets him again as she chaperones her niece. Within 3 days (and even less conversations), she is having sex with him in the garden of his sister's house with several guests in attendance. I don't expect much from a female character, but a little self respect would not be too much to ask for. I hate a female character that just gives up on herself and acts like a matress at the first snap of a man's fingers. The hero has not provided any aspects that would make this believable as he is a jerk, so I seriously question what's in her head but rocks. How can anyone but a woman that is good with being abused would go back for more .
There are 3 hours left and I just can't go on. It may get better, but I just don't care. The only confusing thing is how several people thought this was good and never questions the stupidity of the plot.

Unfun!

Wanted to pull my hair out listening to the main characters interact. No a good sign
