    Story
"Jack has mates = more trouble, more action."
What made the experience of listening to Bad Luck and Trouble the most enjoyable?

The story is nonsense, but don't let that put you off, Lee Child sells you all of this ridiculousness to the point that you will take a bullet for it. You will probably not want to talk about it in two weeks time down at the pub, but you will buy the next Jack Reacher audiobook from Audible. Jack is an enigma, the improbability of your primordial genetic code. What is not to love with touching your reptilian brain with so much relish? I love the fact that it is such nonsense - so loveable and so enjoyable. Perfect fiction and escape.

What did you like best about this story?

It Jack, he's back and he's got mates. Baddies fear and tremble!

    Which scene was your favorite?

The first scene, no, correction the last scene.... Hum, in reconsideration the middle bit.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Moved me? What kind of question is this for a Jack Reacher novel? It does not move, it kicks your butt.

    "Don't mess with the Investigators"

Jack with some of his old team. Not the usual loner this time, but still good, revenge, naive baddies, a little laboured with the constant drives through LA, but overall enjoyable.

    Story
    "Think Jack's showing his age"

Have been a constant Reacher fan but whether it was the almost tired voice given to him by Mr Harding or my personal attitude at the time, I felt that Jack was also tired of being leader of the push. There was certainly plenty of action but not the usual edginess to his character. Maybe there were too many characters to contend with.

"a long long time getting anywhere!"

I don't think I've ever read a Lee Childs book that takes so long to get anywhere. It's as if he was being paid by the word / page, rather than the storyline. One of my least favourite Reacher books!Disappointing!

    "Jack Reacher at his best"

When Reacher teams back up with his former team there is more opportunity for the character to interact and less of the statement "Reacher said nothing". Brilliant balance of crossing plots and an epic ending.

    "There's something about that man."

I have now either read or heard all the Reacher books and oh I wish there were more. With the voice of Jeff Harding - surely the finest voice blending stern threats and machismo on the block - along with the words of Lee Child our creator of Reacher there must be so much more to come. Why? Reacher is both sensitive lover and thug with a heart, 6' 5" of unforgiving justice who carries two fists packed with bone breaking deliverance married with just a scintilla of irony. A caring ex-army major who finds comfort in helping the weak whilst breaking the arm of the town bully. This is why we need more. There's a twisted morality to the character. A flawed hero with neither an address or pretensions.

In this story his old army team highlights the unbreakable loyalty they have to Reacher and each other when one of their number is threatened. I would spoil the reading for you if I went on save to say it is 22 carat Reacher. Listen but don't mess with that man!

    Story
"Jack Reacher strikes again. Another Childs success"
Where does Bad Luck and Trouble rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Good story line beginning, middle and end. I like Lee Childs style when going into the mind of events happening around Jack

    My first Lee Childs book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reacher was favourite character just like they way he is always one step ahead, behind and sideways x like that he likes numbers so much

What does Jeff` Harding bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A good listen. However the narrator needs to work on his ladies as they sound like drag queens.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No not in one sitting as to busy but kept me going so didn't leave it for to long before picking up where I left gage story line.

    Any additional comments?

Have now downloaded lots of Lee Childs books as want to hear more about Reacher adventures.

    "Spoilt by narration."

My recommendation would be to sample the book to find out if the reader will irritate before purchasing.

I feel this OK book was utterly spoilt by the narration which grated throughout. However I have given it three stars for the book and have not let the reader influence the rating as it would have been a two otherwise.

I for one will be steering clear of Jeff Harding in the future.

    "More Jack Reacher action!"

If you are a Jack Reacher fan and haven't read this one yet then add it to your must read wishlist. Reacher gets pulled into a mystery involving some old army friends, when he discovers they have been murdered, he is determined to get to the bottom of it.

Lee Child artfully peels back the layers of the onion bit by bit pulling the reader in, while Reacher and his old buddies trace back the demise of their friends. The dynamic he has with old friends also gives Reacher pause for thought over his lifestyle and rekindles past intimacies.

Reacher employs his usual cold logic to the problem and delivers his own unique form of justice

    "Bad Luck and Boring!"

Very very long and wordy! I'm fairly new to audio books but promised myself to stick to abridged is this what it's like. Here's an example at one point Reacher is trying a key to see if it fits a lock (one of about 50) and he literally goes every bloody lock! "Lock 3....no luck; lock 4....no luck; lock 5 still no luck.................lock 37 still no luck....etc! Also when the narrator does the girly voices - punctuated with "He said/She said" which is totally unnecessary!!? Maybe it's me because, like I said, I'm new to Audio books and used to speed reading boring bits?
