Publisher's summary

A 20-year-old local mystery that has never been solved. A bone-chilling VHS tape depicting a horrific crime. Neighbours with something to hide. And a sister who is missing. Emily has to find out the truth. But is her sister Madeline the victim...or the one to blame?

A creepy and chilling thriller that you won’t be able to put down. My Sister Is Missing is the most gripping listen of 2019.

Critic reviews

"Carissa Lynch's My Sister Is Missing is the best kind of thriller. It peels back the layers of our everyday world and shows us the frightening truth beneath the surface. This is an unnerving, creepy, hair-raising novel, one that will have readers sleeping with one eye open and carefully watching their backs." (David Bell, USA Today best-selling author of Layover)

“Reminiscent of Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects, My Sister Is Missing is a beautifully haunting story that dives beneath the surface and tackles tough issues, all while weaving together a compelling tale of the disappearance of a loved one and returning home to face one’s demons " (Christina Kaye, award-winning author of Presumed Dead)

Narration fantastic

The audiobook version was wonderful. Not only was there a gripping storyline but Kelly Burke did a wonderful job. Sometimes audiobooks with lots of people speaking can be difficult to follow.. not this one! Loved it, couldn’t stop listening.

Wild Ride

As I’ve come to expect with Miss Lynch’s books, this is another story that’ll have you holding your breath, waiting for answers.

Emily never wanted to go back home. For her, home has too many memories, both those she can remember and those she can’t. When her sister, Madeline, asks her to come visit, she feels like enough time has passed, and she’s ready to face her demons. At first, she’s not sure what she had been so afraid of. Then Madeline disappears in the middle of the night. Desperate to find her sister, Emily is plunged into not only her own secrets, but the secrets of the entire town.

I think my favorite part of this story was how the plot was woven together so delicately with such complex characters. There wasn’t one mystery that was solved in the story, but two. Everyone had a secret, and I loved the way that separate demons worked in such harmony. I honestly didn’t see any of the ending coming. The person who I thought was the villain of the story wasn’t as bad of a person at all.

Gripping from start to finish.

Narration complimented the story well.

I thought It would be different

I thought this book would be different from the summary provided it takes a lot to get to that VHS tape . I listened to the whole book and finally at the end things were shown but it took to long to get and lots of going on and on. I don’t know not my favorite

Promises more than it gives.

Why was Maddie’s purse in the jeep? How did they get from the mountain to Sarah’s house? Why would Sarah’s mother drive to the mountain when she didn’t know about it? Not a good mystery!

I love it.

This story was wonderful, at first I felt like it was moving slow. But I realized it needed to move slow so you could feel all the emotion the story has to offer. It’s a story about a sisters love, secrets, pain and bullying. You never understand how things can effect a person until you are reading about it. Every time I thought I knew what was happening, I was happily surprised to be wrong. Brilliant. If you like Aurora Teagarden you will love this story.
