Sherlock Holmes Meets the Old West in This Fast-Paced Murder Mystery That Unearths More Than Just Fossils.

The A.A. Western Detective Agency takes on a new case in 1894 Wyoming, a land of bandit gangs and rustlers, when a group of scientists come to town in the hopes of rustling up something very different—dinosaur fossils. With Big Red and Old Red Amlingmeyer on protection duty, Old Red’s obsession with Sherlock Holmes is forced to take a back seat. Until a human body is shockingly discovered during an excavation, that is.

As the mystery deepens, these cowboy detectives must put their sleuthing skills to the test to catch a killer stalking their client’s dig site. With death lurking around every corner, can the Double-A Western Detective Agency catch the killer before it’s too late?

Another great story!

I am not a huge western fan or Sherlock Holmes fan but I love these stories. I have read and listened to all of them. The characters are engaging, the mysteries solid, and a great mix of humor thrown in as well. I was worried because this one had a new reader but he was very good. I hope I don’t have to wait very long for the next book in the series.

Good as always but old Narrator was better

Good as always but old Narrator was better. I am not saying the new narrator is bad but I prefer the old one, who made the listen more enjoyable and even comical. Some , however, may prefer the new one and the stories are still good.

Love this series

The latest installment of Holmes on the range is as good as the rest. New narrator. He does a fine job.

glad to have a new story

I didn't care for the naration at all. Spoke with no real inflection. Had to concentrate too much. Story was good as usual, look forward to the next one. hopefully with a previous narrator.

another excellent adventure

What could be more exciting than intriguing murders surrounding the early days of paleontology. Happy to see our native American friend has come back to lend his own brand of humor. Love the way the author makes the old west come alive with a variety of situations. Best of all , it ends in a cliffhanger for a different story, meaning that we can look forward to another excellent adventure.

PS we have another new narrator who is not as vibrant in his Western accent as the previous narrators but serves the purpose well. I could only wish that Western narrators worked harder on the native American accents.

Steve never fails to deliver...

Love the Holmes On the Range stories. I love the mixture of Mystery, Western, and "Comic Crime", with characters you come to know, and care about. I would also say for those of you who look for books that you can share with your family, without worrying about some of the content in a lot of books that are popular; you don't have to worry about that here. I'd say maybe PG-13 and up. So you don't have to worry about hitting the pause button on whatever you are playing the audiobook. l encourage everyone to check out Steve's books, by either reading them, or listening to them. Keep up the good work Steve. - Jamie AKA @wolfcrane
