Mike Fanone is a true American hero. His story is one that all Americans concerned with the direction our nation is headed should read.

A Must Read

I love that Michael narrated this himself. I loved that he wrote it just as he speaks. I thank him for his service and for his bravery in speaking his mind. I listened to this in 1 sitting. Even though I knew a lot about Jan 6th I didn't know much about him. I loved hearing about his past as well as his ideas for improving the current system. I hope this book might open some minds.

Michael Fanone shares his trauma and the truth about what he experienced due to the Jan 6th day of horror. He shares how he was a Trump voter, a Union cop, a dad, a son, and a friend that had his world and thinking flipped upside down watching our country debate facts or fiction leaving hik isolated and forgotten until he and a fee colleagues bravely stepped up. Thankful for this man and his sacrifices and bravery.

A story we need to know

This book is not just the story of one policeman but all it those who defended the Capital. The book was riveting; once I started listening, I did not stop. Officer Fanone shows great courage not just in his defense of the Capital but through his willingness to endure criticisms from former colleagues and Congressmen who he so valiantly protected on January 6, 2021.

The best read ever... I love that the author reads it in his own voice. However, the best part for me is that it is written in his own voice... The voice we have come to know and love. Keep doing you. Personally I think the government should hire this man to lead the police reform task force.

Better than I expected

This book was better than I expected. The insight was more thoughtful than I expected. I honestly did not know that the police establishment was actively not supporting the police.

Thank you Michael Fanone for writing this book. It is the best Jan 6 book I've heard period! Your honesty and no nonsense telling of the events is badly needed. I believe someone should send this book to President Biden. Your ideas on police reform are spot on. Fire arms training at the very least would be a game changer. Thank you for all you did all you endured and all you will do in the future. Your voice is so important. Stay safe. Eternally grateful for your service.

American Hero

The raw emotion of Michael’s story, in his own spoken word, was so touching. He truly brought to life what it was like being one of many law enforcers protecting the capitol on this country’s self-inflicted darkest day. The physical & emotional injuries he sustained are palpable when reading this book. I feel like his story and legacy of doing what’s right will surely be in our future history books. Incredible book by an American hero.

A true patriot and the definition of courage!

Thank you so much for sharing your story of true patriotism and courage! Never stop being a voice for all of the courageous officers who risked their lives that horrendous day to save democracy. For every phony politician, right wing propagandist or otherwise willfully ignorant Trumpist supporter who had the nerve to call you a crisis actor, please know their are 100 others who appreciate your sacrifice and understand the true meaning of patriotism and courage. I'm so sorry that the career you loved and obviously put so much heart and dedication into, treated you with such disregard and lack of gratitude purely for political reasons. It truly is disgusting and must be so demoralizing. This country needs more police officers like yourself. The saddest part of your story was explaining how several other officers had to turn in their weapons for fear of using on themselves. It is just heartbreaking. Please continue to hold your head high and be proud of your actions that day. Continue to spread the truth, it is so important in this day and age where facts don't seem to matter anymore. I wonder if you would be interested in doing family interventions to help de-program people who are caught up in the lies and conspiracies of the Fox News/radical right propaganda machine? My husband of over 30 years and almost my whole extended family are all caught in that mess. I feel like I live on a different planet and I find myself so angry at them all the time (as they are with me) because they will not attempt to venture outside their bubble. I feel like if they heard your story they might come back to reality maybe even just a little. But of course they won't read your book or listen to you testify because they have already been told that you are an actor, or you're being paid by the democrats, blah, blah, blah. It's infuriating and it's tearing our family apart. God bless you and your colleagues. I wish you continued healing, happier times ahead and most of all, justice for all those involved including the ex-president and all of his henchman!! I pray for that every day. I feel our country is doomed if accountability for all involved is not found.
