In this time of ultra MAGA, it is heartening to hear of a genuine conservative courageously. opposing Trump’s petty, harmful and narcissistic actions. It is also scary as sh!t. Well- written with strong narration. Very hard to put down.

A guided tour of rise of a authoritarian.

It was like a movie. A film noir, where the bad guy gets his just deserts. But my\our reality right now in the hot summer of 2023, is a grueling series form. It continues with US law vs. DJT.
Though I thoroughly captivated by the subject and storytelling , the reading was good but some of the characters voices was sometimes distracting. But his story was hard to stop listening to. It fleshed out so much of what is going on with the current government.
It made me see my responsibility as a citizen to vote more responsibly and not emotionally or make light of my civic duty.
For me, something good came of DJT and the "free time" of COVID, plus the internet. I made the decision to read and learn about government, civics, current politics and try to understand both parties better by studying U.S. History.
That is why I "read" this book. and as it sinks in I will again.
I will or would like to, refer it to friends, if I can and not remain fearful and anonymous.

Americans should listen

Great book and narrator. The leader of our country didn't care about Americans. That was clear to me when I followed him on social media. The immaturity and out of your mind disregard for Americans, our DOD, our Generals, our allies, our national security has been obvious to people who don't live under a rock. Books like this are important. History is being written.
