With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

Story
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

It’s the summer of ’77 in New York City, and the only thing more unnerving than the scorching heatwave is the rampant murder, leaving washed-up homicide detective Richard Dietrich on edge. When Dietrich investigates a brutal mob hit the brass doesn’t want him to solve, he goes from phoning it in to getting in over his head. Caught up in a mysterious second homicide with an even more perplexing perpetrator, Dietrich starts to second guess his instincts—and his memory—as he searches for answers at the bottom of a bottle.

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... We hope your new audio bible will go everywhere with you and be a blessing for years to come.

Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

When she arrives at the idyllic getaway, she’s pleased to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells—and he’s eager to introduce her to his easygoing way of life. But there are things Grace discovers that she’s not too pleased about: a lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn’t right with the ranch.

Story
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Great companion piece.
This was a fun listen. Paul Brad Logan provides many additional details to the film and some interesting deviations. I've listened to all three audiobooks from this trilogy and I think this one enhances the overall experience the most.

The narrator has a lisp
The book is great, but the narrator’s lisp is very distracting. The story is great, but the narrator’s speech impediment distracts from the story.

MUCH BETTER than the movie
Don’t be fooled by the title and loop it in with the movie. This adaptation of the movie is 1,000,000 times better than the movie.

I still want to see the movie. I am very glad I listened to the audiobook. The narration was very good and I felt like it ended appropriately.

Even Better Than The Already Awesome Movie!
The author takes the time to flesh characters and ideas out a little more than was doable in the movie and it makes an awesome story even better! The narrator does a great job balancing narrating and acting. Sometimes narrators can get a little too over the top, but Linda Jones does amazing things by just telling the story and helping with some voices. Give this one a shot for sure!

Should have gone with this ending instead
A very different book than movie. This was infinitely better, made more sense to the overall plot. The transfer of the dark powers, was very murky and hard to understand in the movie. This was done better and explained better without actually having to explain it.

Fantastic Author
Paul Brad Logan is a great author! After reading (and listening!) to this book I had to go get his other 2 published books.
If I’m not reading the paperback of this, I’m listening. I return to it a few times a year. I actually enjoy the extra scenes in this book not in the movie.
Overall, definitely worth a chance.
