Very well read and kept my attention. I'm sharing it with a friend

First book about a firefighter

I have been in the fire service for almost 19 years and this is the first book I have ever read by a firefighter about his own life and time on the job . I loved this book and it held my attention throughout. I highly recommend it.

Stunning

My children fight fires. Work as paramedics. This book takes me along with them, for awhile. To live what they live. Feel what they feel. Love them for the sacrifices they make, everyday everywhere. God bless them all !

The kind of book you read again!

He is someone you can really empathize with. His struggles ultimately lead him to the ultimate gift of happiness!

It ends so abruptly. I would like to have had more. His life is a wonderful testimony to a loving God.

This is a very is a brave insight to one’s struggles with personal demons . . . Very good.

Much better than expected

I was a little hesitant being a first responder. I was impressed. The writing was much better than expected and very very well done. The descriptions were very visual.

I saw a couple of reviews complaining about the “religious” themes. I accept that if I am reading a biography or autobiography then I will (I expect) to be taken on “their” journey and if religion is a part of that journey than I go along with them. If a person is offended they can skip chapters. I do admit that could be difficult since much of the theme is a rescuer being ultimately rescued. I did skip a little when he was gushing about the girl, however if that is how he feels about her then I will not knock it, I just skimmed through parts there.

I am very glad he shared his journey with me! As a deputy and volunteer fire fighter I understand the “darkness” in this world. I pray that the hope he found can help others find their way out of darkness.

Thriller, Romance, Redemption

From ready to give up and commit suicide to a life of joy. A story of hope. The vulnerabilty Jason has is expressed well in this very honest and transparent story of his life as a firefighter and paramedic.

Good book until the preaching started

I wish books would give us a hint if they contain a lot of religious content. I was expecting stories of the life of a firefighter, not a story of being reborn.
