pretty good.. unique story

Would you be willing to try another book from Tracy Anne Warren? Why or why not?

yes, the trilogy is a fun one.. all the characters and story lines have depth and dimension. The heroine Violet frustrated me at the ending of the book but it ended well... well worth reading and continuing the trilogy... Loved the Duke :-)

Great book, exceptional narration

The usual head banging, nonsensical blunders abound in this romance. Yes, you either love them or wonder why they are necessary. Either way, it's a good story.

Spoilers next:

You'll like the dog. How the dog came about is one of those head banging bits that make me nuts, but he's a good boy.

Kit is the only sensible one, but at least there is the one.

The duke seems a nice guy. Headstrong and reactionary to move the story along but an actual nice guy. Like the author knew a guy just like him.

Violette can't help who she is, or the story wouldn't work. She's nice too.

Her sister isn't worth the price of admission, so I actually skipped the part where comeuppance is served. Hah! Since we all of us know a girl just like her. Don't we. But that's ok. We know we read these books so that girl gets kicked to the curb in some reality.

If you find a man who will choose a decent woman over the flashy one, you had best marry him. I did.

That said, slap your forehead over the foibles and inanity of the humans and cheer for the dog. The book is worth recommending.

The narration was beyond superior. No character sounded childish, boorish or too heavily accented. There were no implausibly affected parts so clearly indicative of a limited talent.

Brava.

Enjoyable 'Bodice Ripper'

I'm a sucker for Historical Romance books and this one definitely delivered. It's your typical romance book with a few twists and turns. Most of the story is completely predictable but it's still very enjoyable. The beginning was a little slow but it quickly heats up. The narrator was wonderful as well. Definitely worth a credit but I'm glad I got this one on sale.

More like the Reader Trap

The narration was very slow. The story pace was slow and the characters were not my favorite. It was not an enjoyable book for me. I increased the playback speed and doggedly finished this listen. I will not continue this trilogy. The idea was excellent but I think the narrator might've ruined it for me. Next.

Okay But Not Great

Dragged on, this book reminds me of a soap opera. I only purchased this book because it was compared to Lisa Kleypas and Julie Garwood; what a disappointment.

Great from the Beginning

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. The plot gets going from the very beginning, so it was easy to get sucked in and wonder when and how "the big reveal" would occur. The conflict that emerges from the plot isn't overdone and doesn't detract from the female protagonist's likability. I enjoyed the main characters and their emerging romance as well.

What other book might you compare The Husband Trap to and why?

The other books of the series.

Any additional comments?

The reader does a great job bringing forth the essence of the characters in a pleasing way.

A good book

If you could sum up The Husband Trap in three words, what would they be?

Well written book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Violet...she was a well defined character. However, at times her actions were a bit unbelievable.

What about Bianca Amato’s performance did you like?

Ms. Amato's reading was great. The various characters' voices were easy to identify and she drew you in to the story.

Who was the most memorable character of The Husband Trap and why?

Again, it was Violet. Her emotional growth and kindness was apparent as the story moved forward. You couldn't help but like her.

Not the usual

I won’t spoil this story, although you’ll recognize the premise almost immediately. I almost stopped reading, thinking it would be predictable. I did decide to go on and I’m delighted that I did. Lots of twists and unexpected story lines. I can happily give it highest marks.
