Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands welcomes listeners back to the Scottish Highlands, where a gallant warrior vows to protect a beautiful runaway.

Lady Murine Carmichael has known her share of bad luck. But when her debt-ridden half brother tries to sell her off in exchange for a few Scottish horses, it's the final straw. If keeping her freedom means escaping through harsh countryside alone, so be it. She has barely begun her journey when she lands an unlikely escort - the brawny Highlander who just refused to buy her virtue.

Dougall Buchanan was disgusted by Lord Danvries' shameful offer, but Murine tempts him beyond measure. Even bedraggled and dusty, the lass glows with beauty and bravery. Dougall wants to do more than just help her flee. He wants to protect her - with his life and his heart - if she'll only let him. For Murine may be pursued by a powerful foe, but nothing compares to the fiery courage of a Highlander in love.

Narrator was amazing!! Story was okay.

If you could sum up Falling for the Highlander in three words, what would they be?

funny, hot, and slow.

If you’ve listened to books by Lynsay Sands before, how does this one compare?

This was the first times i listened to the audio version of a Lynsay Sands book. The narrator did an amazing job.

Have you listened to any of Elle Newlands’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed.

Good Read

I love romance novels set in the historic highlands. The narrator had a lovely brogue accent which led to the charm of the story. overall, it was a good book although the story and plot were predictable. the was also no prologue, which for me is a necessity to have full closure. Who wouldn't want a glimpse of the characters lives after the story ends?

Unquestionably Enhanced by the Narration!

Where does Falling for the Highlander rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Squarely in the middle. Well done, well paced, interesting story!

What did you like best about this story?

What really sets this book apart is the Narrator! Real Scottish brogue, fantastic listen! The story, while somewhat predictable as these kind of romances tend to be, is full of strong, tough, and caring Highlanders, cunning and spiteful Englishmen, and intelligent, brave, and for a fair time...unlucky women! Great stuff for a historical romance.

What about Elle Newlands’s performance did you like?

Fabulous brogue, clearly a Scottish accent, well-modulated, clear, easy to listen to and understand. Bravo! Will listen to more books narrated by Ellem!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hot, sweet, and sexy.

Narration was perfect, story was cute

Elle Newlands did an excellent job narrating—I love her accent and all of the characters voices were perfect. The story was cute, but a bit much on the sex scenes.

Waterfall dreams

Another high land story that pulled me in. I didn’t let go until the end couldn’t wait to purchase book five which I am already ready to start. A beautiful story However, I did see similarities and plot and outcome from other books and other authors but in this case, the narrator drew me in all the same ready for number five..
