Amazing and captivating as expected. Can’t wait to read book 2 and the remainder of the series.

Absolutely Amazing

I love Cinderella so I'm quick to get my hands on any fantasy retelling of it and this is by far my favorite adult retelling of the story. Every second kept my interested and even though not all that much happened in this book it never felt like it. Our Cinderella is fleshed out and not a wet blanket all the time. The "prince" is interesting and engaging. The step family is evil but also thrilling and attention grabbing. I'm so exited to unravel the mysteries in this story and follow the characters. I just need the rest of the series! By far this is my favorite story from this author.

Big ol cliffhanger

Great story, even better narrator (seriously, he gives arch character, even side characters, their own voice and personality!!) but major cliffhanger at the end, so go ahead and get the full series now.

Easily the best version of Cinderella I've had the pleasure of viewing or hearing.

NOT a Cinderella retelling

This book series is so much more than a Cinderella retelling. In its bare resemblance, sure, fin has step brothers and an evil stepfather, but everything else is way beyond a simple re imagining this book series far surpasses such a basic story as Cinderella, and it's a massive disservice to the authors creativity to label it so, this is by far one of the most engaging fantasy books I have read in a long time and deserves to not stand in the shadow of another story .

I love X. Aratare's writings! The stories are always fantasticly adventurous and loving! I have listened to many hours of glorious books from X. and the voice actors are amazing!! Now on to book 2!
