Worth a listen

I have listened to the authors other series, Kong’s dark tidings, which I enjoyed a lot. This story is unrelated but has similar writing style. Nick Podehl crushes the performance as always. The story is good all though I felt that it was left a bit unfinished even for the first book of a series. Kind of ends abruptly as a major revelation is revealed. Has that weird, smart humor from KDT that I enjoyed. Still I wish that the author would have finished the KDT series first before starting another....

I miss Rezkin, but welcome Master Forester!

Let me start by saying I love Kel Kade. I was, however, disappointed that he decided to start a new series versus continuing the King's Dark Tidings series (or delaying its continuation). That being said, this book is most certainly an interesting start to a series with a lot of potential. Kade definitely threw in a twist at the beginning that I absolutely did not expect and, frankly, has kept me wondering about that character. I must admit that I would have loved another 15 hours or so, as when it ended it felt like leaving the theater after watching The Empire Strikes Back (yes, I was there). If I cannot have Rezkin, though, I very much look forward to Aaslo's next adventure.

great story and like his other books kade write fantastically from a person removed from society. but now I need more.... also when is next dark tidings

this is one of the best frickin audible books ever

this book is 👌top quality i definitely recommend not only is Kel Kade an awesome narrator but I love the plot and the characters

Kel Kade hits another one out of the park!!!

Good: Kel Kade and Nock Podehl are an outstanding team. She is able to build the world's and Nick breaths life into them. this is just another in the line of Kel Kade masterpieces. Kel Kade has a system, or maybe a process to her writing that is vexing to the reader. her books are engaging and page turners that can't be put down.

BAD: cliff hangers that last for years. I wish she could produce books faster, but

-patience is a virtue???
-good things come to those that wait????
-it takes years for a tree to grow to its full beauty???
-the world turns at its own speed, no matter how much I want tomorrow to come faster???

Regardless, my impatience will not prevent me from buying either of her story lines when they come out.

This is just a fun book to listen to.

Just what I needed fast fun and Nick the awesome Podehl narration. Seriously if you cant enjoy this book you probably need to be on meds or better meds.

What an amazing book and Nick Podehl is such an awesome reader and narrator, I love it!!!
The story was so different than I have read and the attention to detail as well as character Development is so good I feel like I’m in the story and can picture everything!

I didn't want to like this book

I am looking forward to more King's Dark Tidings so this book coming out was disappointing. After a month I decided to give it a chance and listened to it, I wish I would have trusted Kel and just listened to this, it was great.

Can't beat the combination of Kel Kades writing and Nick Podehls performance! The combination of two is like a storytelling superpower!
