Publisher's summary

Best-selling author Patrick Lencioni's three previous business fables have sold nearly 350,000 copies. His latest takes on the most dreaded company activity...meetings - why we hate them, why we shouldn't, and how to make them great

The thought of meetings makes most business people miserable, but they're a critical and unavoidable part of what we do. Through fictional narrative, modeling, and practical solutions, Lencioni shows how to turn meetings from painful and tedious to productive, compelling, and even energizing.

The story follows an executive who finds his job on the line and his future dependent on his ability to dramatically improve his disastrous meetings. An irreverent graduate student comes into the picture with fresh ideas and a new perspective to help the executive turn things around.

This engrossing and concise audiobook will help improve morale, effectiveness, and the bottom line at the office.

Best meetings book

I really like Lencioni's style. He presents ideas in a super compelling way. This book makes the case that meetings are critical to organizational health and then provides a great recipe for implementing effective meetings. Love it.

Entertaining and enlightening.

Every CEO or department leader should read this one. I report to a department chair (I don't run meetings) but was able to pick up a lot of points that will make me a better meeting participant!

Great overall

This book is great overall however there’s one challenge it doesn’t tell you how do I identify one following the structure is overkill and simple example of that is if you have a five person start up there’s really no executive team in this case and I doubt they need the quarterly offsite I wish there was a chapter or at least half a chapter based on knowing how many in which meetings are the most appropriate for your team size

So worth the read! Meetings are a part of every career and yet we don them the same way all the time expecting a different outcome. This will help!

Must read for Senior Executives

I loved the fable and how author points out the important learning based on that fable.

It should be a must read for executives and also a good read for managers.

For managers, all the points don’t directly apply but those can be refined to a mid-level management.
