Publisher's summary

A desire for status has brought Ondry and Liam to a human world to trade, but dealing with humans has brought up all the old pain in Liam's heart. Even though Ondry would do anything to protect his beloved palteia, he doesn't know how to protect Liam from himself. Worse, Ondry isn't sure how to shield Liam from the shifting politics on the Rownt ship where the Calti Grandmothers are nothing like the ones they left behind on the planet.

With everything in their lives changing, Ondry and Liam have only each other. If Ondry can't find a way to defend Liam from the ghosts of the past and overcome the impossibly short life span of a human, their small family might be over long before either of them is ready to let go. Ondry has always been a dominant and possessive Rownt, and with Liam in danger, those traits are necessary as he challenges the world to protect his lover.

Contains mature themes.

Another great audio, I'm so happy I found this series and I'm able to listen to it while knitting.

Wonderful continuation!

I originally read the first book years ago and liked, not loved, it. Now on audio the story is so much richer with nuances. The performance is sublime and wonderfully rich with voice differentiation and inflections in tone that convey emotions such as a sigh. Ondry and Liam are set as a couple so the sci-fi takes center stage. Already pre ordered #4!

Entertaining

I wouldn't call this the best or anything, but I'm invested in the story so I want to see more of Liam and the rest of the characters.

Awesome continuation to this series

I love this series and I’m so happy that the author will be releasing the next book without having to join her Patreon. I was worried when they went to trade with the humans and Liam ran into his friend. I really thought he was going to drive a wedge between Liam and Ondry. But, I should have known that no one can and what they have is strong and unbreakable. I enjoyed watching the trade negotiations as well as what the Rownts felt when they first came to the settlement. I’m glad that a Grandmother found her own palteia and can’t wait to watch him grow

Humans redeem themselves

I have to say, I liked this one the least of the three books so far, but still it was a great continuation of the story. It picks up with the plot twist from the end of the second book and expands on it. Here, we start getting into space a bit, but only kind of. And MANY more humans, and this time, they do things VERY differently. They do some really good things in this one, and don’t behave like morons (most of the time 😊).

Liam has some emotional difficulties in this one. One could respond to me with, “when does he NOT?”, but that’s not how I see him. In fact, I can relate to him quite a bit throughout these books, although I did kinda want to smack him once or twice in this one.

AUDIOBOOK VERSION: Excellent narration continues just as in the previous books in the series. LOVE IT!

Not a whole lot else for me to say about this one, especially since I’m chomping at the bit to get to the next book!

An Extraordinary Story with an Outstanding Narration

Emotional engaging, intellectually invigorating, absorbing, original, complex , thought provoking perfectly describes the awesomeness and reasons why , I love Affiliations, Aliens, and Other Profitable Pursuits and the entire Claimings series.

~ l will not lose you. " The story scrolls say only Palteia can defy the laws of the gods, for even the gods would hesitate to stand between a Palteia and his chosen Chilta. " ~

John Solo narration brings an already amazing and unique story to new levels of delight enjoyment. He is a master of his craft . He makes one feel, as you're physically there, witnessing and playing a part in the story he narrates.

~ Ondry stroked Liam’s neck. “Something the female said upset you.” Liam laughed. “You’re far more upset about her than I am.” “True,” Ondry agreed, “but irrelevant to my statement.” ~

Lyn Gala continues building and layering this remarkable and impressive world. In book 3, we find Ondry and Liam growing , learning and evolving as individuals and as a couple . Their relationship and commitment to each other continues strong and after a series of events in earth, it grows indestructible.

The wonderful Grandmothers are front and center in book 3. We get to know them better; from their thought process and type of thinking , to their ever growing curiosity , infinite knowledge to their humility , self awareness and failings.

If you're still reading this review , I hope you read/listened Claimings Books 1 and 2 . If you haven't, I encourage you to do so . Ondry and Liam's tale is so character driven and detailed rich , you'll miss out if you even skip a single chapter of this extraordinary book series.

I honestly recommend this series to anyone looking for something unique and against the grain.

Simply Amazing, & John Solo's Performance is A+

What a treat! The audio version of Affiliations is absolutely wonderful.

John Solo does a marvelous job creating voices for these characters. And his emotional performance elevates the relationship between Ondry and Liam to a whole different level.

I'm in awe of Lyn Gala. Her extraordinary gift of story telling is unmatched, and this series holds a very special place in my heart.
