A Destiny to Die For

An intense story about the series of events that take a young Brazilian girl from innocence to being a powerful hit-woman and crime boss. The stage is definitely set for what could be a thrilling sequel.

An intense and thrilling story written by Rik Stone and performed by Stephanie Montalvo.

A Bloody Destiny!

The story is well written and narrated with plenty of twists and turns. However, it is a bleak existence for our protagonist without a conscience. Her struggles are real and she overcomes for the most part, but it's a tough journey. Check it out is you like true-to-life South American "jungle" justice. And, the second book is available now as well!

Intense

A Destiny to Die For, Book 1.
I am a fan of Rik Stone's writing. This one is different very different but also similar. There is a lot of violence in this book,
That is life in the "Flavelas".
I found it a little slow to start but it builds to a tense and violent crescendo, I can highly reccommend this audio book.

WOW...

This audiobook was given to me at my request. I am providing a voluntary review:

This was soooo good. Rik Stone can really write. From the first few pages I was hooked. I couldn't put it down, I finished it in one day. I'm not 100% sure why, but I really wasn't forward to reading this one at first. Maybe it was just the cover didn't do it for me. I don't know, but I'm so happy I was so very wrong. I loved Angelita as a kid. She was already so good at manipulating the men in her life. She always seem so confident. I cant wait to read the next book. The narration was also very well done. Such a good book.

Making It in Brazil

This first person narrative story follows the rise of a young girl from poverty in slums to a lucrative and powerful position in the criminal underworld.
It's not a pretty story and there's a lot of bloodshed as she witnesses the beating death of a favourite uncle, is assaulted at a young age and then asserts herself by forming her own network of young criminals -first in drug running and then contract killing. It is, however, a story I found myself unable to step away from, fascinated by the young heroine's steady, seemingly almost inevitable progression from innocence to infamy.
Fair warning, the book bills itself as Book 1, and you won't get the whole story here, but what you get is a fascinating look at the one young woman's journey through Brazil's seamy underworld - a story that's well worth hearing.

From victim to Crime Boss

Angelita knew she could get her way even from a young age. Although she was taken advantage of as early as 8 years old she turned the tables and quickly became the top of the food chain. I found this audiobook very easy to listen to as the narrator did such a great job portraying Angelita on her journey through the criminal ranks.

READ READ!!!!!

I love love this book, I couldn’t stop listening. Stephanie, wow what an amazing narrator. Angelita is one smart cookie she rule with an iron hand and her brothers will slaughter anyone that hurt her including her own siblings. This is a must read and it’s shows that if you set your mind up to do something nothing can stop you. Can’t wait for book 2.

To much at such a young age.

This one started with heartbreaking action and ended in the same way. I loved Stephanie Montavio the narrator was great. Angelita's life is horrible learning how to steal at the young age of four then at eight a crime was attempted but Angelita had been taught how to stop it. The Brazilian “favelas” is a horrible place crime, dirt, grime, overcrowding, with harshest aspects of the human soul and Angelita does what she needs to do to survive. This was a different type of book that I read and I highly recommend it. I have both the eBook and audiobook and wither you read or listen or do what I did listen while I read. I highly recommend the book.

Brazilian Hit-Woman

A little girl born and raised in a Brazilian slum goes from child pickpocket to teen drug dealer to paid assassin. Her unbelievable ability to compartmentalize her actions, even at an early age, gives insight into the hard life where she must fight for everything. Although fiction, it feels real. I was gifted this from the author for my honest review.
