If you think that extrasensory perception (ESP) is a power reserved for crystal-ball gazers, gypsies, believers in the occult, or something to watch on late-night television, this audiobook will come as a big surprise. For ESP is a power latent in each one of us. Every single man, woman, and child has the ability to obtain information beyond the limitations of the time-space continuum. If we're not aware of this force, we're either ignoring it, suppressing it, or ascribing the phenomenon to other causes.

Over the last 2,000 years, our understanding of how the human body works, why it works, and how to fix it when it stops working has come a long way. Much of this understanding has come on in great leaps in the last hundred or so years. Medical science and the more recent branches of medicine, like psychology, have all contributed to a whole new understanding of how our bodies work and the ways in which our internal organs function. Until recently, however, one organ and its functions remained elusive: the brain.

Springtime in the Country is a collection of short stories that are based on the author's personal experiences of growing up and coming of age in Russia. Set in the '60s, '70s, and '80s, the stories offer some memorable episodes from the author's childhood and youth, his mandatory military service, and his work that took him all over the country. The author shares with the listener the fabric of those days long gone by, and shows a myriad of funny, quirky yet deeply human characters that the author met personally - all those people who enriched his life, and the memory of whom prompted him to write this book in the first place.

Do you remember the dime stores of the 60s? Did you ever shop at G.C. Murphy's, Woolworth's, or Newberry's? Discount department stores became very popular in the 70s and dime stores began to close. Stores like Kmart, Grant City, Murphy's Mart, Hills, and Ames provided a great shopping experience for American families. Most of those chains closed their doors in the 80s and 90s. The glory days of department store shopping have faded away and we now live in a big box world. I always loved shopping in downtown Defiance, Ohio when I was growing up in the 60s.
