Story
According to W.V.O. Quine, no observational datum supports any given hypothesis more than it supports any other given hypothesis, our belief to the contrary being nothing more than a prejudice born of our irrational preferences for certain rules of inference over others. In this very short work, it is shown that Quine's thesis is false and that his argument for it is broken. A corollary is that Kuhn's relativism ("truth is paradigm-internal") is false.

In The Left-Hand Way, the second book of Tom Doyle's contemporary fantasy series, the American craftsmen are scattered like bait overseas. Story
Tom Swift and his Electric Runabout takes us back to gentler times when the bad guys weren't really that bad, didn't carry Uzis, and being an inventor like Thomas Edison was the dream of many young boys. In this book our hero creates an electric automobile with a top speed of over 100 mi./h, saves the bank, gives the bully two black eyes, wins the prize for the fastest automobile in a 500 mile race, only stopping once to recharge his batteries. Without a NASCAR pit crew, it only took Tom 25 min.

Life in the big city has its problems: traffic, overpopulation, and crime, not to mention the brain-hungry living dead. But for hard rockers Straw and Whip, life among the flesh-eating populace is easy. They pass their time disguising themselves to fit in with the decaying hordes, pilfering musical instruments from deserted shopping malls, eating like kings, and performing rooftop rock shows...until they meet a gun-crazy vixen named Betty. Soon the duo begin to feel the flames of jealousy over who in all likelihood is the last woman on Earth.

The Good Soldier: A Tale of Passion has been called the perfect novel, and "one of the 15 or 20 best novels produced in English in our [20th] century". Ford contrasts perception verses reality masterfully as he portrays two perfect couples through the narrative of the cuckold American husband, Dowell, a classic unreliable narrator.
