What remains of Pine Lake is a dead end, and the best hope for Chris, the women he loves, and the denizens of the settlement now lay in a town of preppers living on an island a few hundred miles to the north. All of their faith is now being put into that settlement, and the train that Chris discovered and Fay repaired. Even with a mostly functional train and a lot of luck, it will still be a long journey. Any number of dangers, environmental, animal, and human, could lay in between them and their destination.

Awakening on an unknown island with nothing but his name, Jak quickly proved himself a warrior as he tore through the most immediate threats around. Giant wasps, corrupted wolves, violent cavemen...all fell before him. Now comes something even more challenging. The cave that he took is a good start, but he'll need more things: wood, rock, plants, and, most significantly of all, other exiles to help build his tribe up against the other threats this island has in store for him.

Likely not the greatest threat on the island he is trying to bring peace to, they still represent a significant problem and must be dealt with if harmony is ever to be achieved. But as he and his fellow warriors begin laying waste to Tolvar warparties and launching their campaign of primeval warfare, all is not as it seems. Jak is convinced he's missing something, something crucial, and in the midst of all this primitive bloodshed, mysteries are about to be solved, and new problems will unfold.

Victor Wolfe has roamed his country for 12 years now. Ever since leaving his tiny village to escape to a life that felt worthwhile, he has been traveling the lands, fighting battles, plundering old tombs, and bedding fierce adventuresses. It's been quite the life. But that all changes when he has an encounter with a monster girl, a dryad who opens his eyes to the possibilities that only monster girls can provide. Now he is headed north, toward the famed Hinterlands. An immense forest of wild adventure, ancient ruins, and, in his particular case, intense pleasure.

In 2036, a rapidly destabilizing climate culminated in a worldwide snowstorm that froze the entire planet. Billions are now dead due to starvation, disease, civil unrest, and the plummeting temperatures. What remains of humanity now live in small settlements or isolated makeshift villages, carving out miserable lives in this grim new reality.

The forest that Jak, his bond-mates, and his tribe call home is safe now that they have secured alliances with the secretive nymphs and the brutal karn clan they share the space with. Or that's what everyone thought until an army of the lethal corrupted attacked their forest.

What started out as a relatively simple encounter with two highly attractive women trying to survive in the frozen wilderness is now rapidly becoming more complicated for Chris. His relationship with Lara and Susan is growing into something much more complex and emotional, and on top of that, Jessica has just arrived on their doorstep with her daughter Hannah. She reveals that she has left her neglectful husband for good, and consequently needs a place to stay.

After nearly two months out away from Pine Lake and the women in his life, Chris is finally ready to head back. Feeling like he's conquered his demons, or at least won a decisive battle against them, and learned some crucial things about himself and his relationships, he's eager to return home and continue his life there. But it's going to be a long walk, and although he isn't too concerned about the day-to-day difficulties of traveling across the frozen wilderness, he's nervous about traveling with the four women he's picked up while out finding himself.

While Chris was out finding himself and answering some crucial questions about how he wants to live his life, tragedy and bad luck was striking Pine Lake repeatedly. After a series of accidents and a run of poor luck, culminating in a freak storm, Chris has returned home to learn that the place he intended to settle down is no longer capable of sustaining life in any long-term fashion. To make matters worse, Megan led a team off on a desperate expedition to follow a modern day treasure map to what they hope to be a cache of supplies locked away in a remote prepper's bunker.

Three months have passed since Chris helped save what remained of Pine Lake. He has finally been forced to face a problem that has hounded him since he began his nomadic lifestyle in the face of this new apocalypse: He has found a place that he wants to call home, but his intense wanderlust is driving him insane.

The long journey down the highway has come to an end, and as Chris and his girls at last find the town of Pine Lake, they discover that tragedy has struck. Raiders have burned down almost the entire town. Most of the population is dead, missing, or scattered across the region. Food reserves and medicine stocks were lost in the fire. Dangerous men and animals roam the frozen wilderness as temperatures plummet.

David and his two inhuman partners, Evelyn and April, just learned the hard way that the abandoned cabin they've tried to make their home isn't going to work out. After a midnight assault left their makeshift home in shambles, David sets out to seek a more defensible home. As he discovers it in the form of some nearby campgrounds, the trio begin making a new home and learning how to manage their budding relationship.

Though it's hardly been a few weeks since he found Fiona the beautiful snake girl and Jezzy the seductive succubus and learned of their plan to fix up an old inn to try and help bridge the gap between the various races, it feels like months have passed. And now he finds himself in a loving and intensely intimate relationship with both women.

Victor is really starting to settle into his new life in the Hinterlands. His relationships with Fiona the snake-girl viper, Jezzy the succubus, and Nyx the eight-foot dragoness are all going well. The inn is coming along nicely. And he's become close friends with a few other beautiful women. But his new life of loving monster girls isn't quite ready. They still have a recovering necromancer who has yet to awaken from her comatose state, and they still owe a goddess a dangerous favor. Soon begins the quest to find enough allies to not die fulfilling that favor.

Having been knocked unconscious at the beginning of the surprise attack, David awakens to a nightmare: two days have passed, and the Marauders own everything. All of the settlements are completely under their control, almost everyone in the whole region has been captured, and their patrols are everywhere. But it isn't all hopeless. They've prepared for this, and as David heads out into the night to learn just how bad things are, he begins running into his friends who are still free and very much active.

In the weeks that followed the successful campaign to eliminate the stalker menace, David and the ladies have returned to Haven. It's been a peaceful four weeks, a return to as close to "normal" as you can get in a post-apocalyptic world where undead monsters roam the landscape and humans live alongside a half-dozen different species of inhumans.

The Marauders have been driven out. Haven is safe. Sanctuary is safe. David and the women he loves and his people are safe. For now. Times are changing, and they are going to have to change with them. David can't help but feel that the end of an era is upon him, and the dawn of a new age is coming. Right now is an intermission, a time of transition, a time of reflection. They've all come a long way. They're all different people now. As he goes about preparing for whatever may come, David makes sure to spend time with each of the women in his life...

Six weeks have passed since the official founding of the settlement known as Haven. In that time, things have settled into a nice routine for David and the ladies in his life. He's been surprised to learn that he actually makes a half-decent village leader, though he imagines some of that has to do with the fact that he shares the job with three very capable women. But things have been going well.

In the wake of the successful attack on the group of raiders that had been harassing the whole region for months on end, including burning down River View, David and his group realize that now is no time to rest. If anything, the time has come to step up their game and start taking their role as community leaders more seriously.
