• Daryl Mosley: A Life Well Lived
    Jun 12 2024
With accolades from music legends like Tom T. Hall, Ronnie Milsap, Bill Gaither, and Dave Loggins, Daryl's exceptional talent for songwriting has earned him three Songwriter of the Year honors, thirteen #1 songs, and three Song of the Year awards. His songs have been recorded by a multitude of artists, including Lynn Anderson, Bobby Osborne, High Road, the Booth Brothers, and The Grascals. In the 1990s, Daryl toured as the lead vocalist with the celebrated Bluegrass group New Tradition, later joining the legendary Osborne Brothers, and forming The Farm Hands in 2010—one of the most awarded acts in Bluegrass. His picturesque songs and easy vocal delivery have taken him to the pinnacle of musical stages, from the Grand Ole Opry to the Bluebird Cafe, and even West Point Military Academy. In 2020, he stepped into the solo spotlight with his first project for Pinecastle Records, 'The Secret Of Life,' reaching #1 on the Roots Music Report. His follow-up album, 'Small Town Dreamer,' featured three #1 songs and was listed as one of the Best of 2021 by Country Standard Time Magazine. His third solo album, 'A Life Well Lived,' released in July 2023, also topped the charts with three #1 hits. Most recently, in May 2024, Daryl released “When The Good Old Days Were New,” the lead single from his upcoming fourth album with Pinecastle Records, due out in September and celebrate the release of his very first book A Life Well Lived: A 365 Day Devotional. In this episode, Daryl and I talk about some of the moments that have shaped his journey towards a fulfilling life. We discuss highlights involving Ms. Loretta Lynn, his support system starting out, his heartfelt decision to leave his band to prioritize family, his beginnings at the Grand Ole Opry, his music career, and the process of writing his first book, "A Life Well Lived", and more! To donate and support the mission of equipping pastors in Rwanda please go to the following website: http://Toilluminateministries.com Charles Rwomushana, a pastor from Kigali, Rwanda, and I sat down to talk about the calling God gives us, faith, obedience, persecution, and perseverance. From his years in boarding high school, Charles has always been passionate about helping people experience God’s love and salvation. Since 2017, Charles has served either as senior, associate or volunteer pastor in Kigali, Rwanda and Springfield, Missouri. Prior to starting full-time pastoring in 2018, he spent over 10 years in microfinance and community development work in Rwanda. In 2020, Charles moved to Springfield, MO to pursue his MA in Theological Studies at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary of Evangel University, which he completed in 2022 with magna cum laude. In 2023, Charles started his Doctor of Ministry at AGTS/Evangel so he can prepare to equip many leaders and ministers in Rwanda and beyond. Currently, Charles is in the process of starting a new nonprofit to promote evangelism, plant churches, help the poor and promote formal theological and ministerial training as required by new regulations in Rwanda. Charles is happily married to Chantal for nearly 14 years and both are blessed with a son (Genius, 11) and daughter (Lemuela, 9). Lack of sufficient financial resources made it difficult for the family to move to Springfield together or visit as often as needed, and Charles has only been able to visit them three times since 2021.
