By: Brittney Ellers
  • Summary

  • Welcome to The Pelvic Pulse podcast, where formerly "off the table" topics take center stage so YOU can feel comfortable, confident, and free in your body.

Your host Dr. Brittney Ellers - holistic pelvic physical therapist, womb-worker, and educational speaker and advocate for all things pelvic health - will share the intimate and NECESSARY conversations about one of the most ignored, abused, and suppressed areas of our bodies: our pelvises.

  • Desiring More, Body Trust, and Living Liberated with Cassie Krajewski
    Jun 21 2024

030: After meeting virtually as panelists, Brittney KNEW she had to have Cassie on the podcast because she is SUCH a force for women (and other folks) in the work she does. Cassie Krajewski is the founder of Inner Atlas Therapy and co-founder of Center for Embodiment in Denver, CO. For more than 10 years, Cassie has worked with people to heal from issues with disordered eating, sexuality and pleasure, body shame and weight stigma, and the fragmentation and trauma that often underlies these issues. As a licensed clinical social worker, certified sex therapist, educator, and consultant, Cassie seeks to support people in connecting with their body's inherent wisdom, inhabiting their bodies more fully, and experiencing body liberation.

Cassie is skilled at using a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, attachment work and depth-oriented psychotherapy, IFS and parts work, emotion-focused therapy, various trauma and body-based therapies, feminist approaches to mental health and therapy, mindfulness, inner child and parts work, and meaning and insight based therapies. In this episode, you'll hear insights and concepts you may haven't even considered being connected (sex and food?!), juicy homework (or should we say homePLAY), and an invitation to expand your capacity for ALL of the emotions life has to offer us as humans.

  • An Empowered Holistic OT Goes From Hospital to Free Birth with Samantha Z.
    Jun 14 2024

029: My new friend Samantha joins us on the podcast to share not one, but TWO birth stories of her own. How both journeys from pregnancy to birth differed, as well as the exposure to free birth and mindset shifts that happened during her second pregnancy are nothing short of incredible. Her first was a hospital birth with a doula and second was a free birth at home (with a midwife who came later!). Samantha is a holistic OT for the past 10 years and recently specializing in pelvic health after the birth of her baby in 2021. She fell in love with everything pregnancy, physiological birth and motherhood, which you can feel and hear in her voice as she speaks about it. If you're someone who is considering other free birth and other options (perhaps after already having had a hospital birth) and want to hear about her path towards that choice, you need to give this episode a listen! You won't regret it.

    Feeling the Pulse on

    • How Samantha, an Occupational Therapist, decided on her first birth experience setting and what transpired
    • What she decided to do for her second pregnancy and why
    • The actual cost of her hospital birth bill and midwife cost, differences in hospital-assisted births and physiological birth
    • Birth and postpartum redemption, healing for the mother lineage, and the mindset shift she had for her second pregnancy
    • How her second birth unfolded at home where her husband caught the baby
    • Coached pushing and embodied surrender (she experienced both!)
    • More riffing on healing in postpartum, motherhood, free birth in shows, and women's power
