• How dropping out of U.S. News' "best colleges" is bettering these colleges
    Mar 9 2023

Though they have been a useful resource for prospective students and families doing research to make decisions on K-12 and higher education, for some time now, the U.S. News and World Report's "best colleges" lists have been under scrutiny. Colorodo College, a previously high-ranked school, recently decided not submit data to this year’s U.S. News rankings. In this episode of The Beyond Grades Podcast, we discuss why.

  • How a deaf therapy dog transformed this New Jersey school
    Feb 8 2023

Heartwarming is an understatement. In this episode, I am joined by Chris, the owner of Cole, a deaf pit bull who works in a New Jersey elementary school as a therapy dog. Chris describes Cole's impact on students and staff and how it has defied the stereotypes of his breed and disability. Since he began working at the school six years ago, he has grown an audience worldwide, garnering millions of views and followers on his social media. Ultimately, his impact has reached far outside of his own school, from influencing other schools to consider dog therapy to just putting a smile on a Tik Tok viewer's face.
