Has Horkhauser really reached the maze?  After a dangerous journey through a land of mushroom men, our surly reverse-burglar has to talk his way past an explosive-happy mock griffin to gain entry.  But will he take a ladder to happiness... or sadness?

Horkhauser takes a ride on a magical eyeball, and wonders if he's stuck in someone else's dream.

Horkhauser seems closer than ever to reaching the fabled Restaurant, but now he must contend with a pair of hungry Jabberwockies.  And what is this mysterious message from the past? 

After escaping a strange one-eyed monster in the jungle, Horkhauser finds himself trapped in a town populated entirely by cowards, and his only hope is the secretive wizard inside the ham mill.

Still trapped in the town of cowards, Horkhauser must negotiate with Cliver Flear -- the ham wizard and author of terrible novels -- to find the secret to escaping.

Horkhauser seems to have escaped from the town of cowards, but now he faces a dangerous, action-packed journey through a dark forest where monsters and insects are locked in deadly, sportsman-like conflict.
