    Welcome to Interrupt Hunger's MOVE EAT GIVE podcast, where we talk with experts in Exercise Is Medicine, Food Is Medicine and Food Insecurity.

    And understanding that knowledge isn't always enough to help you lose weight, every other episode showcases someone who's lost at least 10% body weight to share exactly how they did it.

    In this "How I did it..." episode, at 57, Brenda Richan had obesity, was pre-diabetic, and struggled with chronic knee and back pain from her 28-year nursing career. Then she got hit with a kidney cancer diagnosis that became her wake-up call. Instead of being defeated, Brenda got determined.

    She walked into a CrossFit gym at 244 lbs using a cane & not knowing where to start. Five years later, the 62-year-old lost 90 pounds, got off her medications, and became a CrossFit coach herself - showing that age is just a number when you have the right mindset.
