    • Emirates announced a new airport for Dubai (which will be the world's biggest) being planned to accommodate up to 260m pax per year. This will eventually mean the closure of the current DXB airport.
    • The European Commission is concerned about International Airlines Group (IAG)'s proposed acquisition of Air Europa.
    • The same commission is also investigating 20 European airlines for potential greenwashing and telling them to bring their messaging in line with EU consumer law within 30 days or substantiate their claims based on sound scientific evidence.
    • Sad news from Australia - the recently launched airline Bonza stopped operating whilst assessing a way to survive, which seems unlikely.
    • This left a lot of passengers stranded, but Jetstar Airways and Qantas stepped in and offered free flights to those, where there is space available.
    • Staying down under, Qantas app users reported seeing other people’s boarding passes and information within the app.
    • Airsiders reported this week of their success in implementing an industry first virtual interline check-through solution at Düsseldorf Airport.
    • Hays Travel in the UK acquires all 19 branches of Miles Morgan Travel.
    • Outpayce from Amadeus has received an eMoney institution license from the Bank of Spain, which gives it a regulatory greenlight to begin issuing virtual cards.
