About this listen

There’s only one thing better than a great love story: a crazy break-up story.

Hosted by comedian Allison Goldberg, How to Break Up by Text is an Audible Original podcast that turns real and embarrassing break-up texts into must-hear entertainment. Through hilarious reenactments and interviews with the break-up-texters themselves, top comedians and performers slide all up in our texter’s business to get to the heart of what went wrong and why. I saw Alli Goldberg's live show Love Isn't Blind in LA last month (literally died. I’m now a ghost writing this review). 🤣 Anyways yeah, since then I've been binging her TikTok, and making my way through these eps. Huge fan wanting more.

The host Alli Goldberg is pitch perfect and hilarious. It’s always entertaining to hear the guest’s takes and predictions about what was happening in the breakup and then compare it to what the person who submitted the text says. There is also some good moments of reflection and learning throughout episodes from the therapist/expert guests as well.

Fun, entertaining and even educational

I expected something more grown than it is. This is like listening to a bunch of high schoolers. The almost valley accents as we could have called it, the superficial attitude of someone communicating being off putting because “tldr” and deciding they aren’t worth 45 seconds of reading, that was where I realized I was done.
TLDR? There should be a warning of max age 25

I think I’m just too old
