I have noticed that most dentist offices fill their walls with fun-looking and (supposedly) helpful messages to distract from the procedure you are about to endure. I have also realized that if you take the time to study these slogans on the wall, you’ll notice that even though you are reading words, they aren’t really saying much of anything.

The author of the “Art of War” says that to know your enemy, you must become your enemy. While this idea has been around for quite some time, when those on the right side of the political aisle try to out think the left, they find themselves in a web of ideas that seem contradictory and irrational that leaves them floundering. But the conflicting logic that the left follows is both more simple than people realize, and far worse than the ideas themselves.

In the movie Indiana Jones and the Last crusade, one of the most compelling scenes is when Indy is rushing to retrieve the Holy Grail in order to save his dying father. But to reach it, he has to faces a series of challenges, the final of which requires him to cross a chasm which is too wide to swing or jump. The only advice he gets from his father’s grail diary is that he has to take a leap of Faith. With time running out and his father’s life on the line, he has no choice but to try. He takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, steps over the edge of the cliff, and finds that there was a bridge disguised to look like the rocks, which allows him to cross the abyss and arrive at the Grail.
