Everyone Is Extraordinary

By: Ruby Gray
  • Summary

  • I'm Ruby, I'm 22 and I live in London. I graduated from Cambridge last year and have been working in TV production since. I'm taking time off work to go on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage across France and Spain (the full Camino Frances). I will be walking 800 km as a female solo traveller, completely untrained (in fact with a hip injury). This journey has been a dream of mine since I was 15, when I read The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho. From the practical, emotional, historical and spiritual, to the deep connections (and blisters) I’m expecting to make, you will hear it all. Buen camino!

Walking My Way: DAY 9: Nájera to Grañon

TW: dying animals, particularly dying cats :(

I'm really seeing lots of life and death on this camino hmm *donativos are simply the best places along the camino for immaculate social vibes. My favourites ever.

Enjoy the lovely interview with the donativo hospitalero at the end x I'm Ruby, I'm 22 and I live in London. I graduated from Cambridge last year and have been working in TV production since. This journey has been a dream of mine since I was 15, when I read The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho. I wouldn’t say I’m religious, but I do have some sort of relationship with spirituality, which I am hoping to explore on this trip. Stay tuned for an episode for every day of my journey, which I will be walking for over a month. From the practical, emotional, historical and spiritual, to the deep connections (and blisters) I’m expecting to make, you will hear it all. Buen camino! • GETTING GRUMPY ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO AND SNORERS
    Jun 15 2024

Walking My Way: DAY 8: Logroño to Nájera I was grumpy today for reasons partially disclosed on this podcast episode hehehe... but I got all my friends together in the evening to discuss what we had learnt today before we did some yoga.

Did not discuss the fact that Thomas cooked us an incredible smoked salmon pasta thing which I still dream about...

I do not understand how heavy snorers have the balls to stay in big dorm rooms like I would be so embarrassed ?? Enjoy audio evidence of what we've been put through every night lols... thankfully I'm half deaf and cannot hear a thing with earplugs in...

  • MAKING FRIENDS ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO WITH 34 QUESTIONS TO FALL IN LOVE
    Jun 1 2024
Walking My Way: DAYS 6 & 7: Estella to Los Arcos to Logroño Day 6 in Los Arcos is one I will remember for a long time. It was the first time on the trip I felt an immense sense of peace like I hadn't felt in ages. There is nothing like playing the 34 questions to fall in love with new friends. Very grateful.
