He loaned them bail money and sold them an engagement ring, but they still owe for it. The defendant says he’s paid back half the loan, but he and his older brother have a rocky relationship. The plaintiff says she pawned valuable jewelry at the defendant’s shop, but when she went back to retrieve the items a few days later, he claimed they were missing. She went back again and the shop was shut down for good, so she’s suing for the value of the missing goods.
