About this listen

Congratulations, you have made it to the last day of the Bible in a Year journey! Fr. Mike concludes our journey through the Bible by reflecting on the promise of a new heaven and a new earth in Revelation 21. It is this profound promise that reassures us that Christ is the beginning and the end, the one who makes all things new, the one who wipes away every tear, the one who conquers death, and the only one who offers us everlasting life, a life without end. Today's readings are Revelation 21-22, Hebrews 11-13, and Proverbs 31:30-31. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Please note: The Bible contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.

Father Mike (and Jeff C) are a treasure. Even during the most monotonous readings, Father Mike breathed in meaning and context. His enthusiasm was contagious and helped me reconsider problematic passages. I cannot imagine that anyone who has gone through this process is not a better human. I am very grateful to Audible for supporting/including this podcast.

These last two years listening to Fr. Mike Schmitz have been the most enjoyable for me in my faith journey. His final words last Dec. 31 of 2021 and today Dec. 31, 2022 caused me to shed tears of pure joy for knowing one more day that I am so loved by God and through the most holy Trinity. Thank you, Fr. Mike for your vocation. It has been an honor for all of us to be with you on this journey. God bless you and I will continue to pray for you and this growing community. 🥰🕊🙏🏻⛪️

What a Gift for us all -to know how much we are loved by God!

I have never been able to get through the entire bible on my own. This is in bite sized chunks so it can be done. I will do it again in 2023 so that I can get more out of it

This is my first review ever, and I’m feeling compelled to do so because I’d like to express my immense gratitude to Father Mike who so lovingly walked me/us through the process of understanding the Bible. I never thought I’d dedicate the time to carry out this feat, but alas …I did it! It’s been a very rewarding experience, given that I sometimes feel so far away from the Lord. All the historical explanations, the prayers, and the reinforcement of God’s unwavering love has been both humbling and eye-opening. Thank you again Father Mike, you have me in tears and I’ll very much miss this podcast. God bless!

What an awesome experience, thank you!

I started listening a year ago and to the credit to Father Mike's upbeat readings and commentary I was able finish and gained a better understanding of my own faith. I am not Catholic, but enjoyed learning more about the Catholic faith, although the focus was on the Bible, making this podcast a great listen for those of any faith.
I would recommend this podcast to anyone struggling to read the Bible on their own as Father Mike's commentary sheds light on the readings to make those difficult passages easier to understand.
Thanks for a year of an uplifting podcast filled with great commentary and faith building information.

Enlightening for all Faiths
