Black boys and men suffering in silence. Is the media to blame?

  • Summary

  • Join us while we speak with Creative writer, Author, journalist and poet. Terrell Jpk A.k.A "Budd" In this episode, we talk about the negative impact news and other media has on the mental health of black men and their expectations of themselves. We talk about his silent battle with deep depression, and feelings of suicide, identifying where those feelings came from and how he was able to overcome it and live a happy life of abundance through creative writing and journaling. We also discuss his world travels and experiences while traveling around the World and Black.

Has the worlds expectations of black men become unreal and a weight to heavy to bear for black boys in men, adults grooming them from early childhood to become professional athletes or entertainers, and what happens when they can not reach the expectations the rest of the world has set for them.

How news and social media has played a role in this, and the effects it has mentally on black men and boys and their self worth. Have we allowed the world to set standards our kids can't meet and allowed the world to throw them away or look down on them when they are not able to meet these standards.
