American Idol: It's A No For Me Dawg

  • Summary

  • When American Idol first premiered in the June 2002 it quickly became a surprise summer hit. That September, over 23 million people turned in to the season finale as Kelly Clarkson was crowned our first American Idol. But after 22 seasons, today's Idol's viewership pales by comparison. The most recent February 2024 premiere clocked in with just 4 million viewers. And despite many reboots, network changes and rotating judges, the most recent winners have failed to make their mark. This week we dig into American Idol history including some of the famous, infamous and forgettable contestants and then as usual each pitch how we'd fix the show for today.
