#24 Audemars Piguet: History, Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon, Royal Oak "Jumbo" Ultra-Thin, Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar, Code 11.59 Chronograph

  • Summary

  • Audemars Piguet... Holy Trinity... Grail... A few things come to mind when you hear the name Audemars Piguet, or sometimes just "AP." Namely, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, is most certainly a "grail" watch for most collectors.

In this episode, we dive into the history of AP and the complex mechanisms and complications they built on workbenches in the Vallée de Joux. We also discuss the Royal Oak, designed by Gerald Genta, and its many iterations. We'll take a close look at two current models, the "Jumbo" Ultra-Thin and a Flying Tourbillon, in addition to some Code 11.59 pieces.
