That was a long ride

I really enjoyed the character development and endured the "lifetime movie of the week" angst that all authors seem to drag the characters through.
The whole lets talk about our feelings while we are feeling our feelings was really out of place while the good guys were being actively hunted was a big stretch.
Great series. Thank you.

Good but drawn out with a give up ending

The story was good but not riveting.
It moved very , very slow then suddenly ended with little rhyme or reason.

The 40 hour box set could have easily been accomplished in 20 hours.

I started to end it about 5 Times throughout, but hoped it would pick up pace.
It never did.
I don’t regret listening, but I wouldn’t do it again if I knew before hand.
Give it a try! Your opinion may differ from mine.

Good Book , But...

I read these post apocalyptic thrillers because I like to see what these authors think the USA will look like if God Forbid, something like this really happens. They all write the same things, that the USA is attacked by a Bioweapon, Nuclear Weapon or an Big Rock from outer space.

They have our country attacked and the local people are all that’s left to defend the country. If you are a Veteran or even familiar with the military, you know that at any given time, there are hundreds of thousands of military personnel stationed all over the world. If something terrible happened to our country, these Soldier’s, Navy, Airmen and Marines would come home so fast your head would spin.

We would have Aircraft Carriers full of 5K Naval Seaman and Marines along with the assorted aircraft back at our shores within a week, if not sooner, after the start of such a disaster. These writers seem forget this when writing these stories.

I liked the book, the writing and the plot, but sometimes I would just like the author to remember that we have the biggest and most technological military in the world. These foreign powers would have to deal with hundreds of nuclear missiles coming at them from different directions the minute we knew where they came from.

We have a place called NORAD that would survive a direct Nuclear strike. They would direct the sea based assets as well as the land and air, the Nuclear Triad, to level the enemy country. This is why I don’t think that any other country, including North Korea, would be stupid enough to try it.

Loved this series

Love the storyline, action and the characters. Please continue this series with Jackson and Melinda as a set out to check the west and all new adventures please bring back the courageous characters and their new travels

unique story line

the author should have done more research. 1 month after 80% to 90% of America's population gone you should be having to hunt deer. no EMP you don't have to walk everywhere, you will not have look for food out of the dumpster. Just not completely believable.

a new type of disaster

the author did a great job for his first disaster book. some of the story was alittle silly but over all a great book.

4.5 storyline…. Narration

I love this genre and the authors. Storyline solid, but narrator missed the mark. Lacked reflections at key points. Increased listening speed and it helped a little

overall good

good story, bad readers. started off very slow. too much useless story lines, but believable.

deadly contagion

The storyline was incredible.
The thought of a zero hour contagion that could effectively wipe out most of A genetic population is far too possible, and the authors did a wonderful job of describing the feelings and the attitudes of the survivors. And how they deal with the aftermath. the reader had a few words that were mispronounced, but otherwise did a wonderful job, portraying each character with their own separate and individual personalities

The narrator made it tough to listen to at times, his range for the female voices and mispronounced words were less than ideal.
