a bit implausible at times

struggled with a few portions of this book. first thing that caught my attention was the implausibility of enlisted soldiers with more education than most officers. nobody can seem to hit the broadside of a barn when shooting. armored motorcycles seriously? if you cut up the sheet metal from vehicles to armor a motorcycle that will not stop a bullet. if you put armor heavy enough to stop higher caliber rifle ammunition, it would be pretty burdensome to try to ride the bikes, and where would they get such plating? next is just because the bikes are armored doesn't make them a whole lot less susceptible the gunfire. you can still shoot Ryder from the side or shoot the tires, still quite vulnerable.

performance

The narrator made it tough to listen to at times, his range for the female voices and mispronounced words were less than ideal.

Great story...pretty good reader

Enjoyed the creative story and details. Had a hard time with reader at first, especially for female voices. Glad I stuck it out. Overall an enjoyable read...all books well written. I enjoyed the morality and faith references.

Good Story—loved some of the characters

I really liked this box set. There were times where I wasn’t sure. I think though it was a not to do with the main antagonists voices. They grated on me. Their voices did leave me with a sense of dislike-i wanted to get away from hearing them. So hurried through those chapters. I really liked Jackson, Clark and Melinda. Thank you. I would love to see a next box set following the main characters into the uncertain world they found themselves. Thank you!!

That was a long ride

I really enjoyed the character development and endured the "lifetime movie of the week" angst that all authors seem to drag the characters through.
The whole lets talk about our feelings while we are feeling our feelings was really out of place while the good guys were being actively hunted was a big stretch.
Great series. Thank you.

Good Book , But...

I read these post apocalyptic thrillers because I like to see what these authors think the USA will look like if God Forbid, something like this really happens. They all write the same things, that the USA is attacked by a Bioweapon, Nuclear Weapon or an Big Rock from outer space.

They have our country attacked and the local people are all that’s left to defend the country. If you are a Veteran or even familiar with the military, you know that at any given time, there are hundreds of thousands of military personnel stationed all over the world. If something terrible happened to our country, these Soldier’s, Navy, Airmen and Marines would come home so fast your head would spin.

We would have Aircraft Carriers full of 5K Naval Seaman and Marines along with the assorted aircraft back at our shores within a week, if not sooner, after the start of such a disaster. These writers seem forget this when writing these stories.

I liked the book, the writing and the plot, but sometimes I would just like the author to remember that we have the biggest and most technological military in the world. These foreign powers would have to deal with hundreds of nuclear missiles coming at them from different directions the minute we knew where they came from.

We have a place called NORAD that would survive a direct Nuclear strike. They would direct the sea based assets as well as the land and air, the Nuclear Triad, to level the enemy country. This is why I don’t think that any other country, including North Korea, would be stupid enough to try it.
