Story
Badass Habits is a eureka-sparking, easy-to-digest look at how our habits make us who we are, from the measly moments that happen in private to the resolutions we loudly broadcast (and, erm, often don't keep) on social media. Habit busting and building goes way beyond becoming a dedicated flosser or never showing up late again - our habits reveal our unmet desires, the gaps in our boundaries, our level of self-awareness, and our unconscious beliefs and fears.

For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

I should have paid attention to the title.
If you’re looking for actual WAYS to get ahead in your finances, this book is not for you.
Jen is excellent at the mind game money plays. There’s a whole lot of ‘thought process’ and ‘money mantra’ but no real, hard advice for how she built wealth.
Except for borrowing 85k from a friend to then pay an expert to tell her how to get ahead.
I’m glad this only cost me 1 audible credit.

Good Book, Falls Short of Expectations
Jen Sincero is an excellent orator and this audiobook has plenty of interesting stories and comedic moments; however, the tenor quickly became one of uplift. Jen's approach is to help you to see the magic within yourself and to inspire you to have the confidence to achieve any of your money related goals. This is fine but the book falls short on really defining wealth and is not as concrete as I would have hoped. The book is far more abstract that I would have liked it to be. In a way, I feel tricked by the book description and title. I expected Suze Orman and ended up with a comical Bob Ross (I.e. Your wealth is your painting and you can paint as many dollar signs as want to in this world because it's your wealth. I believe in you.).

Badass 2.0
While I really enjoyed Jen's first Badass book, this was disappointing in that it provided no new insights or information. There were even anecdotes recycled from the first book. (The little boy on the airplane comes to mind. There were no other stories about someone standing their ground that could've been inserted?)
This new work was also remarkably short on hard, cold facts and figures -- a little incongruous in a book about money. Jen's presentation is engaging, as always, but this read like a second book that was patched together in a hurry at a publisher's request. I can almost hear the agent urging her to strike while the iron is hot...
The takeaways were almost identical to the first Badass book: hire a coach, spend money to increase your skill set, lose your bad habits, make a vision board, meditate, have a money mantra, etc.
Overall, this was a letdown to me as someone familiar with her work. However, it did prove that Jen is a Badass at making money because she got mine.

Do not buy, not really any advice for making money
I'm sure Jen meant well when writing this, but honestly this book wasn't what I thought it would be. To put it nicely it's a book about Jen's confidence in her own money making ability. It reminded me of the episode of Family Guy where Brian writes "Wish it. Want it. Do it." The part that threw me off was when Jen attributes her money making ability to her faith in herself, needing $75,000 for a specific life coach. She has no idea how she'll get all that money... ((Spoiler)) She remembered she had some stocks in a certain tech company, which happened to be worth exactly $75,000. Her big secret to success, her 'make or break' moment, was literally figuring out she already had the money. That being said it's obvious Jen is a talented writer, but this book is not a good book in my opinion.

This book have fundamentally shifted my perception of money
I read this book as a female business owner at 28, currently working on understanding growth strategies (like obtaining/holding on to those dollars) to scale my business sustainably.
I had already read Sincero's previous book, 'You Are A Badass" and was quite familiar with the New Age-y jargon that would be used throughout this book.
Heads up, this does reference the Law of Attraction and spiritual faith quite a bit. While this resonates with a lot of people including myself, there is a chance that it might be offputting to those who don't believe or understand this concept yet. If you're on the fence about the LOA, I would recommend "The Answer" by John Asaraaf. The first few chapters are packed with scientific backing on this which might help in wrapping your head around all of it.
By utilizing the practices found in this book (letting go of deep rooted misconceptions of money, meditating and focusing on the feelings of already having achieved my goals) this book has certainly helped shift my faith in scaling my business and take me back to that "honeymoon phase" where I had no limits on what I could achieve in starting my business.
In short, this book requires faith, a willingness to let go of preconceived notions of money and people who have a lot of it, and a basic understand of how the LOA works.

A lot of fluff
Good performance by the author, the only issue being that the book doesn't really say much beyond a basic pep talk about how the reader is good enough and deserves to be rich. Not very actionable but probably enjoyable for one frought with insecurities and self-doubt.

Same wisdom, recycled in different way
I’ve read a lot of self-development books, so I found much of the wisdom to be recycled in Jen’s street, real kind of way.
I like her voice- it’s actually kind of sexy so listening was enjoyable. I found a few insights real stick.
What I don’t like: she’s a life coach and touts the necessity of being coached a lot - too much for my taste- in the book.
It’s understandable and is modeling self-promotion to make money, but it was too frequent for my preference.
I prefer to have a multitude of viewing points and look for common threads instead of relying on one persons outlook, which is why I’m a fan of tools of titans since it outlines strategies and view points of many people.
That said, I gained a few key pieces of wisdom that has helped me think of money in a fresh way, appreciate the humanness of myself from Jen’s realness, and gained a greater amount of faith in myself to create habits around money that will make me rich and happy too.
