Lady Rose Ferguson is supposed to spend time in paradise as a sailing WAG, lapping up a bit of Christmas in Miami instead of the dreary UK. Instead, she’s alone on her family’s cruiser, watching her family sail and feeling little Christmas spirit.

When she goes to a mixer and runs into her ex, she cannot stop him from aggressively grovelling until her brother’s old friend swoops in to save her. Prince Lars pretends to be her boyfriend and sends him off. It works, but soon, everyone is convinced the two are together.

When Rose says she’s desperate to enter their family’s cruiser in the Christmas boat parade competition, Lars offers to help her create a splendid light show to her favourite yuletide song. It’s all fake at first, but the more time they spend together, the more Lars and Rose bond. They’re both reminded of the beautiful parts of the season as they put together a winning boat.

When push comes to shove, will they win the boat parade? And is it all just a yuletide fling or something more?

Great voices

This book was so good. I listened while I was at work. Such a great story and the narration was amazing. The voices were great and they had feeling as they read which is key when listening.

Loved the dual narration and cozy Christmas vibes

I originally got the opportunity to read this novella before release back in November 2024 and absolutely loved it, so getting the chance to experience the audiobook early was such a treat. It’s still the same short, sweet, spicy Christmas story that hooked me the first time — but the audiobook added a whole new layer of cozy holiday magic.

Daphne Winters and Dameon Knight did a great job bringing Rose and Lars to life. Their tones fit the soft, festive vibe of the story perfectly, and they really captured all the things I loved the first time around — the banter, the tension, the chemistry, the sweetness, and yes… even the spice. I do think the character voices could’ve been differentiated a bit more, but I was still able to tell who was speaking most of the time, and overall the performance worked really well for me.

The pacing was smooth and super easy to follow, and the dual narration made Rose and Lars’ connection feel even stronger than it did on the page. The yacht-decorating scenes, the fake-dating moments, the cozy Christmas atmosphere — everything felt more vivid and immersive in audio.

This is definitely a holiday audiobook I’d listen to again.
If you love accidental lovers, friends-to-lovers, fake dating, British vibes, and a dash of Christmas spice, this one is absolutely worth the listen.

Christmas lights and spice :)

The book starts with plans for Christmas light decorating, and the sort-of-kind-of relationship between Lars and Rose. It was an easy listen, a cutesy holiday story….. until the “Shut In” chapter! Whew!! That’s when the complete opposite of adorable and charming kicks in. I loved the spice, loved the forced proximity, and love the narrators. Definitely put this on your holiday book list.

1,000,000 stars!

Okay! This was the PERFECT book to start off the seasons holiday reads! The story is short, funny, steamy and romantic as hell! I didn’t want it to end.

The duet narration for this audiobook was excellent! Both narrators really got into character, drawing you in for every second!

If you’re looking for a rom-com perfect for the Christmas season then you should definitely add it to your must read list! You won’t regret it!

A holiday escape with a royal twist.

This novella is very satisfying. It balances humor and romance with just enough spice. Having Prince Lars and Lady Rose in Miami is a nice change for a Christmas story. No snowy cottages, instead there are yachts and palm trees.

The dual narration by Daphne Winters and Dameon Knight is excellent. Their voices complement each other really well. It's the kind of audiobook that just makes you smile and giggle while listening.
