Publisher's Summary

World on Fire picks up where Magnificent Vibration left off: with the hapless Bobby Cotton and his beloved bride (and former nun), Alice, having unleashed a global pandemic that’s fast wiping out half the world’s population - and at God’s request.

Bobby guides a very pregnant Alice and a motley crew of survivors to the Holy Land, darting through the hazards of a world that has fallen to pieces in a way more thorough than any we have seen.

But Bobby’s newborn daughter is born with astonishing abilities, and she’s not alone. A miraculous Convergence is headed for Galilee, where the stakes include survival of the Earth as we know it and the human race.

By turns hilarious and deadly serious, World on Fire explores the fate of the Earth in an utterly original way.

About the Creator and Performer

Rick Springfield is a Grammy Award–winning musician and actor and author of The New York Times best-selling memoir Late, Late Night, which Rolling Stone named one of the twenty-five greatest rock memoirs off all time. He made his fiction debut with The New York Times best-selling Magnificent Vibration. Springfield has scored 17 US Top 40 hits—16 of which were written and composed by him—including the iconic Jessie’s Girl. An accomplished and versatile actor, Springfield starred opposite Meryl Streep in the feature film Ricki and the Flash, gave a chameleonic performance as the creepy Dr. Irving Pitlor in HBO’s prestige drama True Detective, earned great reviews for his portrayal of Lucifer on the CW hit Supernatural, and most recently played the insane Pastor Charles on FX’s worldwide hit series American Horror Story. World on Fire is his second novel. He is already hard at work on a third.

A mesmerizing tale of love and humanity.

Entertainment at it's finest! Springfield's voice is mesmerizing! A must read for today's world! Really hits home for what could happen not so far off in the distant future. A humorous, scientific, dark tale of love and humanity. I enjoyed it and I cannot wait for the next one. Springfield's talents never cease to amaze! Is there anything that this man cannot do?

I hope there is a third!

While, I had my problems with the first book, this book is much better written. The flow is 100% better.

To be honest, I got just because it was Rick Springfield. I love it because it is a great story. I want another in the series because I am curious about Tio and Alice.

Interesting and Entertaining Story

Enjoyed this sequel more than Magnificent vibration. This story and characters are interesting and engaging.
Rick Springfield gives a excellent performance reading the book. The humor throughout the story is a welcome distraction to some heavy subject manner. Toward the end of the book, the multiple references to body parts became a bit monotonous and pulled my attention out of the story. Anxiously await part three. I recommend this to anyone that is looking for a fun, unique read.

Not to sure.

I don't want to say to much and give it away. The story was , well not what I normally listen/read. Did a very good job on adding sound affects this time. It is just weird.

Great

This dark, funny even kinda scary book. Rick has continued MV with another well written, well read book. It will give thought on how we treat each other and our world. And it is an honest view that hopefully will cause some change. Hoping it will not take as long to get the next book if there is one. Loved it and highly recommend.

Really Great Sequel

The amount of research and creativity that this story would have required is breathtaking. Rick Springfield is a wonderful writer, who weaves a tale about the hope and the horror of humanity.
