Publisher's summary

Scarlett

When Cristiano Grigori came for me, he didn’t come alone. He brought his army to kill the soldiers at my door and took me for himself.

He put his ring on my finger and marked me as mafia property.

His property.

My brothers thought they had wiped out the Grigori family, but Cristiano is very much alive.

And he has one purpose. Revenge.

Cristiano

The De La Cruz brothers were pawns to my real enemy. They were nothing but foot soldiers.

Killing them was easy enough.

Taking their sister, well, that’s another story. And she doesn’t know the half of it.

Scarlett is mine. My bride. My pawn.

She’s the daughter of a once-powerful Cartel King. And through her I will flush out the rest of the rats who sought to wipe out the Grigori name.

Keeping her is just a bonus.

A brand new arranged marriage dark mafia romance series from the author of Collateral Damage and The Dark Legacy Trilogy!

UNIQUE, COMPELLING, DARK & DEEEEE...LICIOUS

I made a HUGE mistake with this book because I started it at 10 pm thinking I’d just listen to half an hour or so.. but, right from the start, I was hopelessly lost in Scarlett’s chilling world where she’s nothing more than a pawn in ruthless men’s plans. Plans that will see her manipulative brothers killed in front of her eyes.. plans that will have her fighting for the safety and survival of her innocent teen brother.. and plans that will include marrying her enemy. There is a glimmer of hope, but it’s brutally taken away from her in a fit of rage that will have dire consequences for her future. And, by the time daylight started streaming in through my bedroom window, I was desperate to a) get some sleep.. but much more importantly b) start Book 2 because Natasha Knight sure knows how to write a grippingly dark and delicious slow-burn. It’s a simmering sizzling powder-keg of sexual tension.. with danger-filled Mafia/Cartel angst and action.. and it ticks ALL my boxes.

Cristiano is a dark avenge-fuelled anti-hero with a tragic past and his thirst to avenge consumes his thoughts.. but, the more he sees, touches and feels Scarlett, the more his walls melt. He’s not a good man but, somewhere inside his hate-filled heart, is a lonely man who needs a friend.. a lost man who needs to be saved by a strong loving woman. However, will Scarlett, the daughter of his enemy, be his salvation.. or his downfall? Fuelled to avenge his murdered family, he has amassed an army to completely wipe out the De La Cruz family and Cristiano makes his bloody move.. unaware other enemies lie in wait for him to make one wrong move.. and then they’ll strike.

Worth a credit? Yes I absolutely loved.. loved.. loved it.. and I’m diving straight into book 2 now.. especially after the jaw-dropping holy shit of a CLIFFHANGER ending. Even though I did weakly try by mentally saying “last chapter” over and over again, I just couldn’t look away from the chilling drama, from the tense tingling chemistry, from the ’one wrong move and you’ll die’ moments, from the dark chapters that chilled and equally thrilled. And definitely not from the hate-fuelled barbs that sizzled and flared unwanted attraction between enemies.. enemies with emotions that swung and swayed to lovers.. enemies who’ll desperately need each other to survive the darkness that’s yet to come. The dual POV by Kai and Wen was great too.

So good

I am obsessed with any mafia book written by Natasha Knight. With This Ring is book 1 in the To Have and to Hold duet.

Scarlett is supposed to be a cartel princess but her brothers have her locked in a guarded tower.
Cristiano was in a coma for 6 years after being left for dead with the rest of his family and now he is back with a vengeance.

What happens when Scarletts stubborn attitude catches Cristianos attention? Will she be saved from her tower? Or is she trading one evil for the next?

"Funeral flowers for a wedding.
An omen." Scarlett

She (Scarlett) got on my nerves

That girl just didn't know when to shut up! First off, she popped off at the mouth at the wrong time most of the time. Then, she said the stupidest stuff to the wrong person. Instead of taking in her circumstances and paying attention to how she was being treated and compared them to how she was treated by her own brothers she created more hell for herself...idiot. On to book 2 🍿

Disappointed

This story according to the summary and the sample was very misleading imo. I was so looking forward to this duet but was sadly let down. I struggled to continue but hoped it would get better. It was a waste of 2 credits but I plan to try and get a return on at least 1. The narrator's were not up to their usual performance. The author usually puts out fantastic books. Even though the narrators are great names and great author, it failed for me.
Sorry N.Knight but I can't recommend this one.

I almost stopped reading

This book started out so slow and predictable. I was very close to stop listening, but I was too lazy at that moment to stop the book and pick something else. My laziness led to a surprise - I started liking the characters just a little bit. But why is everyone always wounded in a romance novel? These characters are wounded with a capital W, and surrounded by killers and backstabbers. That was one of the reasons I didn't want to continue reading - the level of negativity oozing from the characters and the story. I get sick of adding more trouble in my life by reading fiction that focuses on a-holes doing terrible things. Then, I saw a glimmer of something interesting, hope maybe, from the storyline. I'm taking a chance on book 2. Please don't let me down! This book is walking a very thin line already! Good narration.

Amazing

This duet was honestly so gripping. It wasn’t just the steamy scenes that get you with this, it’s the story. Draws you in and makes you want to desperately know how it ends.

two good books

It’s a dark romance. As long as you are looking for dark you won’t be disappointed. I gave it an overall 4 star because it should have been one book or at least one credit for both.

Awesome narrators

Excellent listen. The book is a dark slow burn romance but it’s easy to fall is love with the main characters. It does end in a heart stoping cliffhanger but luckily book 2 is out!

My Goodness

The ending to this book is unreal I fear for Scarlett this young woman has been through a lot, seen a lot of death and is still surviving. I hope Christanos gets to her and gets revenge on the people who have betrayed him. Can not wait to listen to book two as always Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross does an amazing job of narrating this story.
