Publisher's Summary

Motherless and raised alongside her brothers, Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting. When her father and brothers are killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving.

Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, has spent his share of time on the battlefield and is shocked to find an unconscious woman among the casualties. Compelled to bring her to a healer back at the Hebrew camp, he's unprepared for the consequences of what he intended as an act of compassion.

In order to survive, Alanah must unite with her enemy. But will a terrible revelation drive her toward an even greater danger?

Beautiful conclusion to the Out from Egypt trilogy

What a beautiful conclusion to Cossette's Out from Egypt trilogy! With some obvious Mulan-like aspects at the start, I loved this story of forgiveness and redemption. The Bible doesn't give us many details of the Israelites' 40 years in the wilderness, but I feel like Cossette does a good job of fleshing out some probable scenarios. If anything, reading this trilogy has inspired me to dive back into God's Word to re-read these stories of His faithfulness toward His chosen people.

Sad to see the series end.....

This is an excellent book to end an incredible series. Alanah's story is much different from the other 2 books. It is exciting, from start to finish. Another 10-star book! We highly recommend this series and this author!

Wow!

How does she do it? Each book in this series is better than the one before. Conniltn Cosseted draws her readers into the Bible and causes us to dig ever more deeply into the heart of God.

Loved this book!

I loved this book! After listening to the first book in this trilogy, I was hooked on the writing. I was Intrigued by the description and knew I had to listen to it. It is very well written, I ended up listening to the whole thing in one day! I highly recommend it, the author did her research.

well written but narration was lacking

Didn't really enjoy the narration by Tim Cambell but enjoyed the book. The story was well thought out and the journey of the characters good.

Captivating

This book as well as the entire series is so captivating! I felt like I was actually in the time and was living among the Hebrews! I learned so very much and am excited about diving into the word ( especially the Old Testament) that I found was elusive to me at one time. The spark has been reignited, thank you so very much and I hope that there will be much more journeys to experience like this one! Keep writing…I thank God for your gifts!

Warriors, Male & Female With Strong Moral Compass

I love books that make me think, and this book will be thought of and definitely re-listened to at least a few times. There's something intensely special about a warrior woman, especially those with a strong moral compass. It takes a certain fiery type of boldness to be one who stands apart from, yet willingly fights for, others, no matter what anyone else thinks of them. Alannah is that woman. There's also something wonderful about a man who is a warrior of strong moral character, patience and the strength to stand alone in spite of nagging, conniving females around him, that can only truly be a match for a warrior woman. That man is Tobiah. Add keeping Torah, historical events full of tragedy...Korah's rebellion, the fiery biting serpents and the battle of Jericho...and the willingness of an author to look deeper into a story, recognizing themes of abandonment, sexual slavery, grieving anger and YHWH's loving plans...now you have the outline of a blockbuster!! This story could quite easily translate into a movie made by Believers for a general audience. Perhaps the narrators could do narratives at the beginning and ending, including the author's notes about YHWH giving the Canaanites 400 years to repent before sending IsraEl in to take the Land. A favorite among many well written Cossette books. Highly recomy!!

a favorite

Though this story takes place when both Kaya and Shira are elderly, I still love the story. It also precludes the next book Light in a Hill featuring Moriah.

Great story wonderful characters but male narrator poor

I loved the book and Sarah Mollo- Christiansen was outstanding in her narration you felt you were part of the scene. 5*However Tim Campbell’s voice was abrupt harsh and bordering on aggressive in its tone and really didn’t match the character of Tobiah, (who from the words was a faithful man of God but he lacked confidence in himself) really ruined it for me as I was jolted out of my imaginations.

Wings of the Wind by Connilyn Cossette

A truely well written story bringing into focus a period in the Bible that demonstrates an example of Gods redemption. I very much enjoyed book & totally recommend it.
