Publisher's summary

No is not a four-letter word, but it certainly feels like one.

It's one thing to feel God's love when life goes your way, but what happens to your faith when life doesn't go as you had planned?

When prayers go unanswered and dreams unfulfilled?

When the sick stay sick and the dead do not rise?

When you're lost in the desert and the Promised Land seems like an empty promise?

When God says, "No", how do you grapple with disappointment?

Author Elizabeth Laing Thompson walks alongside listeners as she tackles the difficulties that stymie our faith, stifle our prayers, and stunt our relationship with God. When God Says No will help you to discover hope when life feels hopeless, good in what feels bad, and new dreams when old ones have died. This book is a fantastic reminder of who is in charge - who he is and how he works. How he loves us and why he limits us. The better we know him, the more we understand that he says "No" to a few things, so he might say "Yes" to many more.

This is so worth your time!

"No" can be really tough in so many ways. Elizabeth does an excellent job giving the reader tools to work through the no. I also appreciated how she had a short re-telling of a person from the Bible at the beginning of each chapter. I truly felt less alone in the way I was feeling and processing my own no(s). She's also a good narrator of her own words and it feels like a friend is talking to you. Each chapter ends with an opportunity to go deeper in the Bible and journal prompts. Several of the journal prompts were thought-provoking for me.
Well done Elizabeth!

Very nice

When I first starting lisent to the book, it was scary nobody like when God said no. It’s scary, I learn that sometimes when God said no it could be he is waiting for me to be more persistent or maybe he got another door or open for me. I learn we can honest to God express our feelings and frustration, not demanding things, Because God said no it’s doesn’t mean I did something.

Excellent

This was an excellent book. The author is able to bring bible stories we grew up with to life and then tie in real life experiences. I enjoyed it so much I am reading it again and plan to read anything else from this author.
