When Mia Broadhurst’s grandmother passes away, Mia returns to the quaint seaside village of Winstead Cape, where Grandma Ruth ran the historic lighthouse on the edge of the coast. Mia can’t bear to part with the last piece of her grandma - the lighthouse that has been in their family for generations - but with her life back in New York, she has no choice. With the snow falling, Mia works with real estate agent Will Thacker to restore the old lighthouse. She tries not to get lost in his deep blue eyes that match the Atlantic Ocean. After all, she’s only back for Christmas.

Not the usual fluff
ok, it's still fluff I guess, but it really was a step above most Christmas romance books.
First, it seemed to have less of a Christmas feel to it than many do, and that was a bit unfortunate, and it had one plot twist that was a stretch, but I forgave it that.
What made it stand out was much more character development than most Christmas romance books. And overall just better writing.
I'm a 60 year old man but I like Christmas romance books, so sue me. This one made me feel like crying several times... the mark of a successful read.
Narrator was fine but be aware that she must be Canadian because some of the pronunciations are Canadian.

Christmas past and present
Good story though not really so much about Christmas as it was about the lives of several of the characters past and present and the decisions they made or have to make that would/will decide their futures. Still a good book to curl up with and listen to on a cold winter day. The narrator was decent but her accent sometimes threw the narrative of the characters a bit off. Still not so bad that it was tough to listen to. If you like stories with happy endings this is for you.

Heartwarming story
Sweet, wholesome Christmas story!! It brought smiles to my face and sometimes a tear to my eye. Beautifully narrated. I would recommend for the Christmas season or anytime you want to listen to a feel good story.
