HEART-POUNDING & EMOTIONAL

Walking in Darkness was heart-pounding and action-packed. With evil closing in, the bond between Aria and Pax became even more important and crucial to their survival and the survival of their Laven family. I was at the edge of my seat with my heart going a mile a minute.

With so many unknowns, Aria and Pax's journey to their HEA had my heart in my throat. The passion and chemistry between them was unparalleled, and I loved seeing their bond spark into something neither of them expected.

The way Pax never faltered or shied away from putting himself in harm's way for Aria made me swoon and warmed my spirit. Aria was absolutely fierce in this book. I was cheering for her as she took the reins of her destiny in order to lead and fight the war that had a been a long time coming. I loved the tender moments between Aria and Pax, while they lost themselves in each other if only for a moment as a respite from the looming danger.

Bravo to Teddy Hamilton and Victoria Mei for their fantastic performance voicing Pax and Aria. Not only did they breathe life into the characters, they did a phenomenal job of evoking all the passion and tenderness between Aria and Pax. They were captivating and engaging.

The perfect ending 😍

Ugh this was honestly the perfect ending to this duet! Just the way it kept me wanting to see them happy and to get their happily ever after! I couldn't stop listening and kept going! I think I devoured it quicker than I thought I would.

Absolutely LOVED!!!

This was perfection!! What a great Paranormal Romance Duology!! It is one of a kind. I’ve never read anything like it, and it was beautiful!! This conclusion was emotional, inspiring and perfect! I am going to miss Tearsith and Faydor, the world where the Laven went in their sleep to fight the evil trying to infect and destroy people. I’m going to miss this amazing Laven family and their eerie, but beautiful and otherworldly appearance. I will mostly miss Pax and Aria, the two special Lavens. Aria a Valient and Pax her protector. Their love drew them together and helped bring the rest of their Laven family truths and courage.

The great war at the end was magnificent, suspenseful and very emotional. Made it hard to put down!! If you love Paranormal Romance you will love this!! It’s not real spicy, but it is romantic and family oriented (found family). It’s a battle between good and evil. It will have you on the edge of your seat flying through it to see what happens to the Lavens you’ve come to care about!!

A.L. Jackson continues to prove why she’s an auto-buy author for me with Walking in Darkness, the gripping and emotional conclusion to Aria and Pax’s duet. This story drops us immediately back into the danger, mythology, and heartache of their two intertwined worlds—and I was hooked from page one.

What really stood out to me in this installment is the depth of the character arcs. Aria steps into her power in a way that feels courageous and earned, while Pax remains that fiercely devoted, morally grey protector who will burn down the world if it means keeping her safe. Their bond is intense and unwavering, and Jackson captures that connection with her signature lyrical prose that always hits straight in the chest.

The plot moves quickly, weaving new revelations, rising threats, and unraveling truths that reshape everything we thought we knew in book one. The stakes feel higher, the world-building richer, and the found-family dynamics even more heart-squeezing. It’s action, emotion, mystery, and devotion all braided together with that unmistakable A.L. Jackson magic.

As for spice, this book definitely brings a little more heat than Visions of Darkness, but it stays firmly grounded in emotion and purpose. I’d still call it 1.5🌶️ on my scale, with beautifully intimate moments that deepen the romance without overpowering the story.

If you loved Visions of Darkness, you’re going to devour this finale. Walking in Darkness is atmospheric, addictive, and full of heart—a stunning conclusion to a truly unique romantasy duet.

Teddy Hamilton and Victoria Mei are phenomenal in this finale. Teddy embodies Pax with that perfect blend of power, vulnerability, and unwavering protectiveness. You feel every ounce of his devotion—every moment he throws himself between Aria and the darkness chasing them. Victoria Mei breathes such fierce, aching determination into Aria’s voice. She captures Aria’s strength, her fear, her hope, her evolution. Together, they deliver a chemistry that’s tender, electric, and impossible to ignore.

This duet already has cinematic energy on the page, but the audio makes the battles feel bigger, the emotions sharper, and the love story even more gripping. Jackson, picking up where 𝘝𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 left off, as Pax and Aria continue the ultimate battle between good and evil across Earth and other realms. Just as I mentioned when I reviewed the first book, I’m still so impressed with the way this author blended the “real world” with the “fantasy worlds!” The descriptions and imagery was top notch, especially as all the non-stop action began to unfold! I was transfixed by twists spawned by secrets and lies propagated through the ages. The characters are just so well-written with their fated bonds and the found family vibe among the Laven. Emotion just oozed from the story… fear, heartbreak, determination, love. It was a magical roller coaster from start to finish. Pax and Aria’s romance definitely evolved more in this installment, giving their chemistry a chance to flourish into a beautiful passion. Their unique connection was so intriguing, like it was even deeper than a soulmate bond. The audio version narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Victoria Mei added a whole new layer of enjoyment to the reading experience with their stellar performances. They nailed the high intensity drama, angst, and danger of the action, as well as the nuances of the emotional and romantic threads. Please make to read 𝘝𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 first, as these stories are 𝙣𝙤𝙩 standalones! Even if romantasy is not your go-to, I’d still recommend giving this duet a try. I rarely venture into that genre, but I loved this story!
