A Pride and Prejudice Marriage-of-Convenience Romance

When tragedy strikes, duty demands a wedding—
love was never part of the arrangement.

After the sudden death of Mr Bennet, Elizabeth Bennet faces the unthinkable:
no dowry, no home, and no future for her sisters.

With the family one step from ruin, salvation arrives in the most unlikely form—
Fitzwilliam Darcy, aloof and enigmatic, offering a marriage of convenience.

Driven by honour, Darcy proposes.
Driven by desperation, Elizabeth accepts.

Now mistress of Pemberley, she must navigate a world of wealth, judegment, and whispered scandal.
But behind Darcy’s cold reserve lies a man of surprising depth—and dangerous secrets.

As tensions rise and their bargain marriage grows ever more complicated,
Elizabeth must ask herself:
Is love worth risking everything, even her pride?

A passionate, witty, and emotionally charged Pride and Prejudice variation—
perfect for fans of forced proximity, slow-burn romance, and fiercely matched hearts.

Stoey is good, but difficult to follow the story at points. Voices are not correct, emotion is not appropriate. Hard to tell about 50% of who is talking.

Narration is not good

I have listened to likely a hundred P&P variations. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The premise is sad, as Mr. Bennett has passed away suddenly. Elizabeth makes a choice to marry Darcy to save her family. This book is a variation to most of the original. Think of this as a clean slate variation where Elizabeth and Darcy barely know each other. Darcy proposes because he needs a wife.

I truly enjoyed the fresh approach in this book. Most of the personalities are canon and written extremely well.

Okay. The elephant in the room. The narration is the early AI and horrible.
Just put your speed to 1.2 or 1.3 and just enjoy the writing for what it is. And that’s beautiful writing with a fresh and interesting storyline.

I highly recommend this book and I am so glad that the author put it on audible, even at the AI narration.

For the record, I’ve loved the variations narrated by my favs Zimmerman and Frost. And there are other great narrators too. I have specifically sought out books that they narrate. But not all books can be narrated by our fav authors. There is only so much time.

So. I think this book is worth your credit or purchase.

Excellent P&P variation!

I wanted to hit Mr. Collins. He was horrible, and I wanted to tell him to shut it every time he said "women in reduced circumstances." The sacrifices made were very loving, and showed both main characters in a good light.

how many times could he say reduced circumstances???

The plot in this story was reasonable logical interesting. However, there was so much repetition. It became unbearable. nor were the characters very good. They keep saying how witty Lizzie was without any examples of wit. Darcy came off as a very generous man. They said he was proud, but they never showed his pride. It was a waste of time.

Could have been good
