Publisher's Summary

A Sunday Times best seller

The brilliant fifth Dirk Pitt classic from multi-million-copy king of the adventure novel, Clive Cussler.

Over 30 years ago, on an ultrasecret flight to the South Pacific, the transport plane Vixen 03 vanished. It was believed to be lost at sea. And carrying canisters of the most lethal substance known to man.

Now Vixen 03 has returned to haunt the world. Dirk Pitt, the ace maritime troubleshooter who raised the Titanic, is the only man who can overcome the nightmarish problems involved in retrieving her cargo. And the price of failure is terrifying.

oldie but goodie

Again fab to see the old CC coming to audio Book. I'm now partially sighted and haven't been able to read the old ones in years.

im glad they haven't changed this in the 80's Dirk was a chauvinistic pig at times but CC has evolved him with age and the years as we all have.

Another great Audio book by Cussler and read by Brick

Scott Brick brings alive the characters created by the late great Clive Cussler, the way he switches accents from character to character is sublime, there’s very little recording or editing errors and the story flows along nicely before building to a crescendo of action.

A solid Pitt adventure

A historical mystery, over the top spectacle, awesome action, outdated politics...

Vixen 03 is a solid Dirk Pitt adventure. Brick's narration only makes it more fun.

Good narration and ending. The rest? Unenjoyable!

The good:
Narration. Scott Brick does a good job as usual.
The long ending. Exciting and well written.

The bad:
The racist blacks.
The racist whites.
The women. (Not that there are many...) Mostly sexual stereotypes - even the purportedly strong ones. Their breasts however are described in detail!
Real world events (the end of Apartheid) after the book was written takes you out of the story.
The "African angle" part (big part) of the story almost felt like reading a separate book. Until things came together at the end, it felt disconnected from the rest of the story.
