Publisher's summary
Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. Raised in rural New Hampshire by her widowed father, Andrew, she now has a young daughter, a handsome fiancé, and her own search-and-rescue bloodhound, which she uses to find missing persons. But as Delia plans her wedding, she is plagued by flashbacks of a life she can't recall. And then a policeman knocks on her door, revealing a secret that changes the world as she knows it.
What happens when you learn you are not who you thought you were? When the people you've loved and trusted suddenly change before your eyes? When getting your deepest wish means giving up what you've always taken for granted? Vanishing Acts explores how life as we know it might not turn out the way we imagined; how doing the right thing could mean doing the wrong thing; and how the memory we thought had vanished could return as a threat.

Really wanted to like it but......
I really wanted to like this book but I just did not. I liked the idea of different narrators, but the woman was so off-putting that I hated the main character. I never could connect with her. The other readers were not as bad, but there was a lot of background noises that were very distracting. As for the story line, I get the feeling that the author is trying to show you how much research she did for the book but it just doesn’t fit. There are so many distracting side stories and a bunch of facts that are not relevant to the storyline. The main character is not relatable at all.
Very disappointed and will not be listening to any others by this author or the reader for main character.

Someone close, you love will never vanish forever
Andrew was my favorite character! He endured everything for his daughter, even jail, and completely loved her through it all.

Another Educational Heartbreaker
Jodi Picoult is the master of heart wrenching family challenges. This is like no other - so many important people with so many lessons to learn.

Subpar
My first disappointment from Jodi Picoult. This one just never captivated me, as her books always have. What was the point? And the narrators? Oh no. I’m a stickler for pronunciation and the name Nguyen is NOT pronounced NaGooYen. The medication is VerSED, not versed. Nope, won’t recommend this one.

Not one of her best
This one of my favorite authors. She is an incredible story teller. This one isn’t one of her best. I felt the plot was labored and her characters unreal.

Loved the story but there were times the story bogged down and I actually forwarded some to get through it.

Really liked it- read it!
I found this book to be a compelling intricate and complicated story. I’m not sure fully I loved the way it ends though it does leave some open ending possibilities. Another I
interesting, well researched novel Jodi!
