Who says a vamp can't have it all?

Darcy Newhart thought it was a stroke of genius—the first–ever reality TV show where mortals vie with vampires for the title of The Sexiest Man on Earth. As the show's director, Darcy's career would be on track again. And she can finally have a life apart from the vampire harem. Okay, so she's still technically dead, but two out of three's not bad. Now she just has to make sure that a mortal doesn't win. If only she wasn't so distracted by a super–sexy and live contestant named Austin...

But Darcy doesn't know the worst of it. Austin Erickson is actually a vampire slayer! And he's got his eye on the show's leggy blond director. Only problem is, he's never wanted any woman—living or dead—as badly. But if he wins her heart, will he lose his soul? And if it means an eternity of hot, passionate loving with Darcy, does that really matter anyway?

The story is sweet and funny at times. I love the growth of the lady vamps from the harem and only vampire sex to fully empowered and wanting to own a stripper club with male vamps as the dancers🕺! I don’t understand why Darcy couldn’t have actual sex with Austin but Roman can with his wife; maybe it’s the amount of time he had to learn vampiric control (@500 years). I’m not surprised that each lover was willing to die just so that they could be together.

Shocking ending twist (spoiler alert)

This was a really enjoyable listen. Imaginative premise, and funny situations abound. The harem was funny mostly, but at times their actions were tedious, but it lent to the story and helped to move the plot along. Sparks writes some really great heroes, they get more romantic as you go.

Undercover fun.

IM GOING TO HAVE TO SAY THE SAME THING FOR ALL THE LOVE AT STAKE BOOK IN THIS SERIES. ALL THE NARRATORS WERE REALLY GOOD. SOME BETTER THAN OTHERS BUT IT IS DEFINITLY WORTH BUYING OR USING YOUR CREDITS ON. JUST MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN THO THE BOOKS IN ORDER ACCORDING TO THE BOOK # OR THE RELEASE DATE. ONE OF THE BOOKS IS NOT PART OF THE SERIES BUT PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE. AFTER BOOK 9 YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO VAMPIRE MINE

Overall, I enjoyed the book and wasn't sorry I listened. The premise of the story was just as ridiculous as the first book in the series, but this time a bit more lighthearted and film noir at the same time (if that is possible). The author did a great job of keeping you guessing with some dramatic and well-timed reveals.

I was a little disappointed that some of the voices of the characters from the last book weren't the same this time around (eg: Roman). I was also a bit disappointed with the characters' actions at the end of the book; they were more than a bit cliched and nonsensical. Still, I enjoyed it!

Silly but Fun

It was a book that kept me listening. I can't wait to listen to the next. Abby Craden does a great job of narratoring this book she is very easy to listen to.

Great read.
