Publisher's summary

“Unputdownable and unforgettable. Peyton Corinne effortlessly weaves together raw, emotional moments with scenes that feel like a warm embrace through dynamic characters that will leave an indelible imprint long after you turn the final page” (Bal Khabra, author of Collide) in TikTok sensation Unsteady. Now featuring a previously unreleased bonus chapter.

Rhys is desperate to feel anything.

Sadie wants to stop feeling so much.

Rhys Koteskiy is back—at least, he’s supposed to be. During last year’s Frozen Four, the Waterfell University hockey captain and NHL legacy took a brutal hit that left him with a concussion and a new discomfort on the ice. Plagued by nightmares and panic attacks every time he attempts to skate, Rhys wonders if he’ll ever play again—or if he’ll ever want to.

Sadie Brown is staying focused this semester—no matter what. Currently drowning in debt, custody hearings for her younger brothers, and skating practices, she’s just trying to make it to the next day. A spitfire figure skater known for her bad attitude and frequent disappearing acts, Sadie has a reputation on campus. And it’s not a pretty one.

When she accidentally witnesses one of the golden boy hockey captain’s panic attacks and attempts to help him, a strange sort of understanding strikes up between them. No questions asked. Just comfort. But Rhys finds himself drawn to Sadie. Where he feels empty, a shell of the man and player he was before, Sadie is so full of everything, it bursts from her; every emotion she feels seems like it’s blasted at max volume. Rhys is desperate to feel anything. Sadie wants to stop feeling so much. But healing doesn’t mix with secrets, and they’re both skating on thin ice.

I enjoyed it

Sweet story. I really appreciate how loving, affectionate, and communicative Rhys. Sadie was one tough nut to crack. Her younger brothers are adorable

I don’t know if I can finish this one

Kelsey did a really good job narrating as Sadie but my guy Max was quite over dramatic. I am trying to get through it but every chapter he reads is more over the top than the last.

Overall story is good but I might have to finish it by reading without narrations.

Not what you expect!

This book surprisingly made me emotional and I was not prepared for tears to be streaming down my cheeks during a sports romance can't recommend this book enough. It made me laugh, blush, and cry so many times. The book was filled with so much emotion, care, and love. Peyton did a fantastic job writing this debut novel. It took me a while to express how much I enjoyed this book, but I can't believe this was Peyton's debut. It makes me excited to see where she goes next. The writing was eloquent and beautifully expressed.
The story follows Rhys, a star college hockey player who has suffered a brutal injury that left a scar that's not easily visible. This injury has caused him to have crippling anxiety and depression, to the point where he struggles to get back on the ice. One morning, while having a panic attack at the ice rink, Rhys runs into Sadie, who is a figure skater who needs extra practice. When Sadie sees Rhys in a panic attack, she immediately steps in to try and comfort him.
Rhys is the perfect book boyfriend, with his golden-retriever looks and personality. I couldn't help but want to hold him in my arms. Sadie, on the other hand, is a broken and jaded female lead character with a huge chip on her shoulder, but for good reason. They are the perfect match for each other, and Rhys consistently shows up for Sadie in a way that is so beautiful. He is also great with her younger brothers, which just melts my heart.
Rhys's parents are like something out of a romance novel, and I wish they had their own story because they are so lovable. The supporting characters are also well-rounded and interesting, and I can't wait to learn more about them.
This is not just a love story but also a story about healing.
Both Rhys and Sadie have their issues to work through, but they support each other through the healing process as best they can. The characters are so real and human that it's hard not to feel for them. Although the author puts the characters and readers through the wringer, the ending is satisfying, and I'm happy with how things turned out. But, at the same time, I want more because I love all the characters so much."
Kelsey did a great job narrating as Sadie and I enjoyed Max and the voice he brought to the supporting characters. Overall fantastic performance.

A fantastic and emotional debut romance

I’ve heard the most amazing things about this romance and I am so happy that I ended up loving this.

If you love the Boys of Tommen series then you’ll love this book. This also gave my Addicted vibes as the heroine is giving Lily Calloway a little. But Peyton Corinne wrote such an emotional love story and I loved it.

Rhys and Sadie romance was so angsty and full of layers and depth. They both have fantastic character development and I enjoyed their individual journey along with their romantic journey. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author as I really enjoyed her writing style.

The audiobook wasn’t my absolute favorite. But I did enjoy the performances.
